Default Please review my website

Hello everyone:

My name is Wendy and I live on a lovely little island called Caye Caulker in Belize, Central America. I just recently downloaded the Yahoo Sitebuilder software (web designing for dummies) and have created a webpage for the very first time knowing nothing about wed design or html. Can you please review my website and tell me what you think? It's at www.auxilloubeachsuites.com.

Thank you.

For a first go it looks very nice - hard to fault it.

You've compressed the pictures well and the layout is fine.

I would maybe consider changing that serif font in the bulk of the text to sans serif. I think it will look better.

You have a button labelled 'Caulker Caulker Homes' but the heading inside is 'Caye Caulker Hmes'. Is that a typo on the button?

Those hyperlinks on the right in the Caye Caulker also page don't fit in with the rest of the scheme. The easiest way to make them fit in better would be to change them so they are the same font size as some balancing text/links on the same page. Better still, standardise the font as already suggested. And even better, also (this makes some people take up arms and declare war) change the default hyperlink colours to fit these links in even better.

There's something wrong with Chateau Giselle - lots of gobbledegook down the bottom and slow loading. I suspect a corrupt uploaded image and/or text.

I notice that the text you have in the left side menu varies between upper and lower case and possibly size as you navigate through. Just needs tidying up.

The colour scheme of Inland Tours is totally different. I'm not sure that's a good idea within a site.

And the menu system becomes very confusing (for me) once I get this far in, as the right side items change completely.

I didn't look at all those pages, but I think you need to sit down with a pencil and paper and work out your site map, then determine the navigation structure from there.

Oh. Lose that mouse follower :) It is annoying and unnecessary.

Nothing serious, though. It looks pretty good.

Default NICE JOB!!!

Very nice job indeed. But ..... http://www.auxilloubeachsuites.com./Caulker.html when the mouse moves on the page, there isa trail of stars - kinda stinks up the otherwise awesome site.

On the top of the pages, when u put the mouse over the top banner (with baby, butterfly, etc) it says "web banner with multiple pictures"). Please change that somehow to something else. Maybe say "Welcome to Auxillou Beach Suites" or something like that.

Thank you for your comments erjs.com. The tails were kinda cute to me as a first time web designer. Didn't realize they were so distracting. Thanks for all the tips.

Cheers,
Wendy

Default mouse trails are cute

Yeah I like mouse trails too but unfortunately those wre badly done. Normally the background of each image has to be transparent put there weren't. The guy who made that set needs to be shot. Giving other mouse trails a bad name ;)

Hi,
The site seems to load slow, but other than that it looks good.
I would work on a logo, but everything else looks good.

Default C'mon down

Come on down anytime. It's a lovely little island (fishing village) of about 1200 year-round residents. Its great if you like to relax or enjoy water activities.

I appreciate all the website comments, hints, etc. It's helped me to grow a lot web designing wise. Except for a few kinks here and there that needed to be worked out, no one said it looked crappy so I feel proud as a peacock now :-)

Cheers,
Wendy

Hi there! Great effort!

I would not mix serif and sans serif. Too busy. I find the bttom links difficult to read, would help if they were arial or verdana - these are the easiest digital fonts to read.

Your parrot could lose the white background (block).

Anyway, well done! G'luck with the bookings!
