i personally think it could look a little better, kinda gives me the 'poster on a lamp post' feel...

but overall i'd say this is an effective site

Nice....and speedy for all the content being shown.

For the left-hand nav links, I prefer to have my links do something when I hover over them so I know I'm clicking the correct one. Whether they be underlined or highlighted when hovering is your choice.

Also, the home page just seems overwhelming with all the content on it.

Otherwise, I like the layout, and love the images that appear when hovering the top tabs...

Be Careful!! The people who you mock are not nice....lol

From an article I just read this morning:

Let’s take web pages as another example. Let’s assume that someone copies all the HTML and Java code (these are the languages that format what you see on the world wide web) that run the web pages for Amazon.com. This code is pretty complex in terms of web page design. For the user, in this case book purchaser, the web page has what is termed a very specific “look and feel”. Amazon presumably has done lots of market research to get its web page looking this way to make it convenient for people to navigate its web site and purchase items. What happens if our web code copier modifies all of Amazon’s code and puts in his own business name instead to sell music CDs? The original Amazon webpage “look and feel” ideas belong to Amazon.com. They can take this upstart CD seller to court and will probably win.
