Just finished a total re-design of this site. Let me know what you think.

I think this is a pretty nice website - advertising a very cool concept.
There's one thing I'd change right away: I don't care for the way links go from blue to yellow on mouse-over. They're unreadable on the white background. I believe I'd just mouse-over to the same green as visited links. I'd probably change the line that says "little more than the cost of a greeting card". It's just not true. Be honest and your idea will sell itself. The other thing I don't like about the site is that information about the actual trees is conspicuously missing. Sure, you tell people what species of trees you mail, but that's not enough! I want to see what they'll look like if they survive. Photos. Information on how quick they'll grow and how big they'll get. Information on how to plant and care for them. Information on whether the trees will live if I plant them in a flower pot (since I don't have a yard.) Sunlight and watering requirements. Why not make the words "(planting instructions included)" a link to a pdf for downloading planting instructions? I know you're practically giving them away, but without more information about the actual trees the whole idea lacks credibility. I'm left to wonder whether the trees will be wanted by whoever recieves them, or whether they'll thrive in their new home. What's sadder than planting a remembrance tree and then having it die? |

OK. Changed the mouse over color. I wasn't sure of the yellow myself.
Can't believe I didn't think of the tree information. You are sooo right! Look for changes soon. I'm not sure what to use for my tag line "little more than the cost of a greeting card", I felt this to be true. Hmmm. Any ideas for something catchy? Cathy www.mailatree.com |

Cool idea indeed...not a bad site, just a bit lacking in the visual department. Perhaps even just a border or something would tie it together.
I do realize there is a lot of content in the site, but is there perhaps a way to break it up into more pages? It just seems like a bit much on the scrolling-side. Hope that helps, if you have a moment could you please review my site here? Thank you. |
