OK Ready I think, Quilts by Cindy, Have a LOOK.
Well I have been working for weeks on this redesign, we have been on the net with www.quiltsbycindy.com since 1998 and do ok. I still have a lot of alt tags to do on the images on many pages. This site is being set up for the readers that blind folks use and for older PC's so everyone can see it. Have a look and I look forward to your comments, good, bad or ugly. Thanks You Guys!!! Have a good day!

The site, while basic, is very clean. And for the purpose it is intended it should serve its purpose well.
Some comments: 1) Fonts. I am finding fonts such as "American Classic" and "Bookman Old Style" in the code. Keep in mind that a lot of viewers may not have these fonts which could be a detriment to the look and usability of your site. Try sticking to the browser safe fonts such as "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica and Times" This will allow you to be more consistent with the copy styles and know that what you are seeing is what others will see. 2) Your title has too much repetition in the wordage and may be a detriment when trying for search engine placement. 3) I would suggest replacing the quilt images across the top with a clean and simple logo. This logo can be used for the site, business cards, mailing labels, the sides of boxes. Anything that is sent out should have a recognizable logo. This can greatly increase your company and product recognition. 4) The background is a tad distracting and tends to make the text difficult to read in certain areas. I would suggest using the cat prints in some other fashion of the design such as bullets for lists, the beginning and end of space bars, an end of page marker, etc. 5) You have some animations that do not relate to the site. Example: the dolphin on the for sale page. It does not relate to your product nor does it relate to eBay. If you want people to recognize the fact that you have buyer comments through eBay, try using an eBay logo in place of the dolphin. It relates, and will flow better with the information. 6) Make sure every page has a call to action. For example at the bottom of the about me page there is a link to the farm?, to the garage sale and zooauctions. While these are calls to action in a fashion, they do not benefit the sales of quilts through the site. Always offer a direct and specific way to the page that offers quilts for sale. Don't show them a link to ones you have sold, show them what is for sale right now. Make that sale. 7) The studio page has some nice photos, I have a T-3 connection so I am not sure how long it would take for dial-up to access the images, but I would almost suggest making them thumbnails that can be enlarged by clicking on them. I would also put copy on there. You want to sell people on your service. I don't want to just see pictures of where you work; I want to know how you work. Tell me your process; put a story to the pictures so I can make sense of what I am seeing. 8) Your product details pages pop-up in new windows. Keep in mind that a lot of your service providers now offer pop-up blockers.(AOL, etc.) I believe these services are already active by default so people may not see your product pages. If people click on your image to buy and nothing happens, what do think will happen to the sale? It will pop to someone else’s site. I would suggest making those sale pages open within the same window with a back link at the top and bottom of each of those pages so it easy for people to go back to the main sale page. 9) Your contact us box under your navigation on the sale page should be on every page. I would also suggest that you change one of the email links to the phone number as to links to the same email address is redundant and unnecessary. Speaking of contact info, I noticed your warning about calling within a specific time. This can detrimental to your business. If this is you home number I would suggest getting a second line. That way after your business hours you can direct the number to an answering service and not have to worry about it ringing after hours. This will add convenience for you, a contact option for those that want to leave a message (for those that see your site after hours (make them wait and you lose the sale)) and it will add professionalism to your company. These suggestions are just that, suggestions. Take them or leave them. But by following these, you will bring yourself closer to a more professional presence online.

There is much I have to do and I see that now through YOUR eyes. There is one though, "Contact" I have read so many different thoughts on that one. Some say everypage some say just a link on every page to the info. May be we should do a poll on that here to see what the majority think. Again THANKS for your comment folks, like I said I much to do now, Again, after being up for over 6 years this will be round 4. DING! Font, logo, background, change this, drop that, add there.. all in all not to bad, So far. Quote:
