I dig this. It's simple, straightforward, and relatively easy to figure out.

I like the colours (nice and muted) and the sign thing is cool too in the header.

A few minor things:

1) I get a horizontal scrollbar at 1024x768. I'm thinking the header graphic is the responsible party.

2) I don't know if you should show categories where you don't have listings already. Personally, I wouldn't, but I can see an argument either way.

3) You oughta have a nav bar for this site, even if it's only got 4 or 5 things in it.

4) Where does this site make money? I don't see any ads and it doesn't look on the surface like you charge for listings.

Hey good job. I agree with Adam on Number 1. But what about the poor schmuck still viewing 800x600 (Do they really still exist? :) )

Keep up the good work.

Michael

thanks for the feedback guys.
At this stage we will be keeping the site free to use, just until we develop a data base and then we will charge a small fee for a 12 month listing.

thanks again

I really like the site. It's easy to navigate and designed for a quick read. In television, which of course is the visual medium from which computers originally started, there use to be a 6 second rule. That is that if a viewer didn't like what they were seeing in 6 short seconds they were gone--- off to the next channel. With the advent of MTV and the computer it's much shorter than that now. It may be 2 seconds!

My company has retained many psychologists and others over the years, including color experts who have studied this like a fine science. Colors effect people more than any other single facet. I urge you to darken the print where the light grey is to brighten it up so the visitor can see it quickly and connect to the words right off before they too are gone.

Good luck!
