I run a small staffing & immigration firm from USA and Canada. I have been trying to find ways to improve my ranking on various search engines. My web site address is www.irisfirm.com.

What I am confused about is when I search on keyword "International Recruiting", my web site shows as No 2 or 3 on Google, Yahoo, etc. (Complete name for the web site / company is International Recruiting & Immigration Services Inc.).

But when I search for the key word "Canada Immigration", I don't even see my web site listed on Google? I submitted my web site to major search engine using the keyword "Canada Immigration".

Any suggestions to improve the web site and the rankings are appreciated and I will return the favor for anyone taking the time to go through my web site.

If another site links to you with the keyword 'Canada' then your given more weight than another site with the first keyword in their list being 'Canada'. Just keep in mind links weighted most by links inward and then factor in pagerank and add keyword placement and density/proximity of keyword in the site to get the high placement.. Google is on crack right now, anything you may do to get people to link you may take quite a bit of time to find by google.

Dude,

You do not use the text "Canada Immigration" anywhere on your home page! Search engines can't read graphics. Add the text and I bet your rankings will improve.

P.S. I agree, Google is whacked.
