I am a work-at-home-mom and in my spare time, built my own website, using Frontpage. I have never had any training and after countless hours ("months" actually), a sore neck and lots of frustration- lol, this is the result. I know its not perfect, and wondering what I should do different. One guy told me to get rid of the frames.. but that would mean starting over and alot of "cut and paste" Anyway, just like to know some ideas, suggestions and yes critique....but take it easy, I'm a newbie~
Thanks!

Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. Seems rather slow to load. I am unbale to see all the left hand menu because there isn't a scrollbar for it. Right hand frame is slightly to wide for 800x600 resulting in scrollbar juggling to see it all. Might be nice if the links changed colour when the mouse is passed over them. Otherwise, a good solid design - much better than my first attempt at web design now thankfully lost in the mists of time. Good luck with it.

Unable to see bottom part of the menu where i think it says "customer service".

Maybe you should consider a new title graphic and text, it looks rather bland unfortunately and a bit outdated.

Need better use of design for the whole home page considering there will be alot of competition and that you need to build trust from your surfers that your a real genuine site.

Despite all the negatives it is definitely a good start and descriptions and photos are well presented of the products.

Hi Danette and welcome to WPW

As we design and work on our sites they become like a part of the family. Sometimes when people tell us what we need to change things it can hurt.

You have a nice looking site and a good start. I would get rid of the frames even if it meant starting over.

You have 5 seconds to grab your customer and get him to stay.

A great logo, easy nav., and some great text I think works best.

I would also remove counters and banners from my home page.

Edit by Janeth

I recomment including some kind of contact info. That title image with the butterflies is 34k. Try to get the site under 50k.

Default What do you think?

WOW! Thank you for all the input! Some of those things I never really thought of! My husband builds computers for a living, so naturally mine is pretty fast~ I didn't think that some people may have slower computers, or different resolution, and may not be able to view things as I do.. that is something to think about. My husband told me to make it more plain and simple.. maybe I should listen, eh? ha ha

janeth- you are absolutely right, my website has become a part of me, since I created it, and its hard to do things different than you originally planned.. but I am always trying to find ways to improve it...
So thank you EVERYONE for letting me know.. I will certainly work on these issues!
