I need feedback on extra features that may be required by seasoned ebayers. Many auction sites fail because they dont have the bells and whistles required to make for a sucsesfull auction site.

I have a programmer that will be adding a

1. paypal verification procedure
2. enhanced search features - however it whould be helpfull to know what features are required.

The site is also going to get a new look, but any ideas are welcome. The site has just launched so not a lot to view yet.

OK, I'm bringing you back to the top, so forgive me if I am a little rough on you. :)
Before you worry about advanced search features, a basic search has to function. 3 of your categories are spelled incorrectly (should be jewelry, collectibles, photography!!). A search won't function if buyers spell correctly, unless you have a search feature which comes back with "Did you mean..." That is a good idea in any case, because buyers don't spell everything right, either. Sorry, that is just a pet peeve of mine, but I think it costs a site credibility.
Also, just IMHO, I would try to look as "un-ebay" as possible.
It is an ambitious site, and you've made a good start!
