Default Rhodes Properties

Hello there (again)

I have made a site (simple but functional like the customer wanted) at http://www.rhodes-properties.com.

This site was in the top 10 within a couple of months of completion on Google and on MSN (still is) for the search term 'Rhodes Properties'. Now, it appears as though it is not even in the top 1000! on either Google OR yahoo (but still number one on MSN).

I have used http://www.prsearch.net/ to see where it is listed and it doesnt figure anywhere on Google or Yahoo.

I guess it is to do with the recent Google update? For me that is not the main problem, the main problem is to get it back where it was (or thereabouts). We have a few links incoming (although again Google doesnt see these for some reason) and a few going out.

We plan to link outbound to relevent websites about Rhodes (Taxi firms, Hotels, Flights etc), would this help much? The customer has also purchased two mroe domains through us to make two more websites which we can link back and forth of course.

I am really not sure what to do about this one, its weird this drop to nowhere :(

The only change we made was to add a german page and some text on the first page to allow german visitors to see their pages.

Hope you guys can help

Get the basic right first. You have no page title!! You have no text on the home page for google to index (they can't read images). Your keywords appear no where on the home page!!!!

Default Photo Album

You Website is like a family photo album.

Put some text on the home page about the company, its products, services, profile, introduction etc.

You should make a better navigation from your home page so the spider can follow it and index your other pages.

Redesigning with keyword rich content is the only option.

Hi thanks for your replies. I neglected to mention that I have an index.htm page which I have put there for the search engines:

http://www.rhodes-properties.com/index.htm

Or would that not work? I got to thinking that the index.htm page doesnt get linked to from any other pages so therefore it wouldn't get indexed by google would it? Although I am sure I submitted the index file to Google when I initially uploaded. I have updated the file with some more content with keywords stressed.

Should I re-submit the index.htm page?

Thanks again!

I think the htm is more attractive and better designed for humans and search. I would drop the other altogether, If I follow you correctly to show one for bots and one for people reeks of cloaking in a "primative sense".
