Default Please take a look at http://www.karate-master.co.uk

This site is an exclusive club for Dan grade (Black belt) holders, and offers member only goods along with general karate equipment to non-members. It has master classes, news, reviews etc and the logo is the kanji character (Japanese symbol) and the word Master with the red flash through.#

The site is only 16 weeks old, and is getting around 6,000 hits a month at the moment; the sales to visitor ratio though is very low.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Regards

Kate

Pros:
Attractive site! Cool drawings, and nice layout. Your color scheme is simple and appealing. Your side menu is broken up logically and easy to follow.

Cons:
Lose the frames ASAP. Frames in your case do not add value and will prevent your site from getting indexed in search engines, Sorry! I understand why you are using the frames (https://ukvps.protx.com) but really you are doing more harm then good. What happens when a customer reads this line:

"You have now entered the Protx secure server, if your browser isn't showing the secure padlock on the bottom right of your screen click on the padlock below"

They wont see the symbol because they are locked up in a frame! Not a good way to build trust in the last step of purchasing. Also when you expand two categories the links get cut off, but there is no scroll bar to reach them!

I would recommend a simple logo that people can remember you by and combine this with our site name. The drawing is a nice decoration but very detailed as a logo. 'Kid' is hard to make out in your title as well.

I hope this helps,

Grease

Default Great Logo

The Japanimation look to the Kid is 1st rate. The wind sweeping his hair does not deter his focus. He's dangerous...that's clear!

I can see kids all over using this on gear. It will be a symbol that speaks for the them, and they will proudly display it!

My bet is that you're gonna get rich on this!

Make sure you tie down all rights, and then Promote! Promote! Promote!

I'd love to help you promote your recreational sites Kate, and I'll get some going for karate. As present I have BuArts.com

Default Good Logo

Hi KateCB.

I agree with the guys that the logo is good, but also agree that you need to get rid of the frames as a matter of priority as they prevent the whole of each page being viewed. I know a lot of poeple get tired of having to scroll to the sides all the time and it may be why your visitor to sales ratio isn't as great as you would like.

You might also want to think about reducing the file size of your logo as it takes quite a while to load, even on an ISDN connection.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know.

I agree with the previous posters, the logo looks nice, love the kanji. What I really dont like is the "oriental" font, it may just be me, but I think it makes the logo and the site look amatuerish (is that a word?).

Kate,
The logo is great. It communicates! I notice you have few version of the caricature. Please make sure they are consistant and one day you will see your logo everywhere. Before that please check your logo again for consistancy. Yes don't forget the rights. 6000 visitor a month is a good start.

You have 3-column page and the right column text is centralized. It is hard to read.. Flush left is better.

NOTE TO PREVIOUS REVIEWERS: I think y'all are looking at the wrong site, hehe... The logo is here: http://www.karate-master.co.uk/images/banner.jpg and the website is here: http://www.karate-master.co.uk

The logo is a good design, with nice colors. However, it's very large - more like a banner ad...

The menu at the bottom of the page that moves around and then sits back at the bottom is a bit too much IMHO...

The site took a while to load on a cable modem - might want to tweak your graphics some...

Other than that - it's a great site! Good job!

Let me stir up some action here.

Is logo design "source" or company oriented? Or is logo design "receiver" or customer/stakeholder oriented?

That is, does it emulate the company, or does it emulate the customer? It can't do both and be effective. Or can it?

Thoughts please!

Default your logo

nice logo but does it read at 3/4 inch?
you may need another "stacked" version, with "master" underneath "Karate" . and if you are making another, more usable logo- why not simply use it?

lol yes you're right i was looking at the wrong site. I have to say that i like the fact you can change the prices on both sites which is good as they have neglected to put the £ sign in them and also some prices are missing digits. ie 8.5
