Default web site for review

Hi everyone, this is a site I am building for the company my father works for. This is the first site I have built for a company although I have built a couple for myself and some friends. I would just like you all to take a look and give me some feed back on what you think. There isnt really any content yet as the company hasnt yet provided it.

I look forward to hearing your opinions, good or bad.

You're off to a good start and since you haven't gotten too far this is a good time to think about your content and design. I would lose the intro and go right to the main page. After all it's the company you want people to get familiar with so why not take them right to it. I would make that header static instead of wiggly. It's too distracting. The less scrolling people have to do when they view your site the better. Simpler is better as far as the graphics go so if you are going to add pictures of the staff don't distract us too much with a baroque frame. Design takes time and you've gotten off to a good start here so don't go public until you have your layout and content ready for prime time. Good luck with the project.

While the flash looks good it is not the first thing you want to see. Serach engines from what I have read an heard have a hard time in searching a site if this is the first file they see.

The pic you have on the main page you might want to have it static instead of the wave. Hard on the eyes.

Might want to add more content to the site and repost it for more reviews. It is hard to review the site when the only thing so far to review is the format you have. Which looks good.

Haven't seen anything different from your other post but I agree with the others - lose the intro page. It's search engine-unfriendly and wastes time for the people looking to get information from your site.

The site has a very techie look - you have to be careful with that as it may put some people off instantly. Good luck with the site =)

I would definately cut the splash page. It's bad for usability and it's bad for search engines so I would definately cut it.

I would suggest cutting your email address at the bottom of the page. Perhaps you could put a link with the words "Designed and Maintained by ________" and have the link take you to a page where visitors can fill in a form to contact you.

You might also want to put up a copyright notice at the bottom of the page.

I suppose as far as design goes, there isn't much more to say. It looks good!
