I am going to overhaul my site after reading many threads on this forum. However, before I do, I would appreciate any comments or critique that you guys may have to offer. I just started learning HTML last december (don't use wysiwyg) so I am a total noob, but I have managed to get #8 on MSN, #11 on Yahoo and #108 on Google (ugh) (used search phrase 'houston airbrush')

Anyway, don't worry about hurting my feelings. Let er rip.

Thanks for the time and consideration.

Looks pretty old. The graphics are really blocky on your navigation bar. You need to make it into more of a site. Some of the pages don't have much on. You could reduce the text size on your main page and put some of the other pages there instead. Does it's job though.

I agree with MuNKy - the site looks dated and I'm not so sure the colours go at all well together, your gallery pics need to be better optimized too as they look really grainy making it difficult to see the quality of the artwork. On the plus side I found the site easy to navigate round and simple to understand; good luck with the changes!

I would say get rid of the black background and red text for adult sites usually have this type of format on them.

You site looks better on a small screen than on a big screen. Your pics need to be clear no matter if one is using a small screen or a big screen. Munky is good with pic making. He has some good ideas you might want to follow.

Hi..

Firstly I want to say good job at attempting the website! Big thumbs up to you there :)

I agree that you need to change the background from being black and the text from being red.

Try using neutral colors.. they may be boring but they'll be a good start for you to just use the basics so you can work on your graphics and rankings :)

Just try a white background and black text for now.. that's all you need.

The buttons up the top need to go... I'm not saying they're completely bad... but they just don't suit the current graphics that people seem to like.

I would also suggest adding a links page. Links help with rankings and rankings help with sales *grin*

If you got a program such as Swish and did a simple flash file for your top banner that could make it look a lot better too :)

Swish is easy to use... if I can use it, anyone can!.. hahaha

Good luck with everything - I hope we're not all confusing you.. giving you different ideas and all :)

Cheers,
Amie

Might be helpful if you added a logo to the top of the main page. Just having your menu at the top does not look very well.

The website now looks too simple, you need to make it look more interesting and more professional. The font size is too big and I agree with webhost1, you need a logo on there somewhere. Make more of a frame for the site, add in some more colours and some more images. I wouldnt put the nav bar right at the top of the page either. You could even make the site look like it was airbrushed by scanning in a picture and then making the site on top of it. Good luck!

Hi,
Okay, i think framing up the site somehow will tighten the whole package, and make it much easier to look at. You need to rework the navigation as well...put off to the right or left side and IMO you should ditch the graphics for nav. i'd also pop a decent logoed header up top. Glad to hear you're doing alright with the SE's tho...that takes pure patience!

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I have decided it is time to learn to use CSS's. Here is my first attempt:

www.spacecityairbrush.com/test/index.html

That's not the final product, but I think I am on the right track now. Again, thanks to everyone who has looked at my site and offered suggestions.

By the way, my SEO has worked great. I have first page listings on all of the big three search engines now for my major keywords (some still need work) and I even got a call from a new customer who found me by typing "houston Airbrush" into google. My name and number were at the top of the page. That is just SWEEET!

Thanks again to everyone.

That is a massive improvement! Congrats! Add in a few more pics, a little bit more colour and more of a logo rather than just text and i think you've got it! Nice one!
