Hi

I am redoing my site totally using CSS. Really the stuff is incredible to work with and I should have paid more attention to it ages ago. It is wonderful how you can simplify the whole complicated design of a website by making it share the same style.css. Ontop of that it is remarkably easy to make everything display properly in Firefox and Opera too. By the way the site can pull in anything from any portal such as Mambo and Xoops. I have found ways of being able to show any component of these portals in 'ordinary' sites. Not at all hard infact. I can take a good look at what is available in any portal and consider whether I want it on my site - yet my site isn't a portal at all? If you want to know how to do this well just ask - not at all hard infact.

I am attempting to make my site appear 'friendly' because it has to cater for any visitors and perhaps more importantly me. Although the site caters for UK Shopping and Software nevertheless I can't see why it can't cater for my and other peoples interests as well.

I think the design of my site is becoming 'inviting' - then again I could be totally wrong about this? Is it? The site will soon show links to my interest - reading, running and guitar playing etc. The Forums will show everything to do with everyone's interests though - why not?

I like to give my reviews as a series of bullet points - then you can pick and choose easily those you want to.

1) Colour scheme - three main colours (Blue {two shades} and yellow). That's good - easy on the eye.

2) Home page really does need a clear statement about what the site is about. What you have on the About Us page should really be on the home page.

3) I'm not sure about having latest chat entries at the top of the page - What if it is something unpleasant!

4) As someone from the UK - I found the content facinating - I've been looking for a site like this for ages - you need to get it advertsised and make sure the front page really tells people that they can find links to many UK based shopping sites (put some examples up as tasters - eg:B&Q etc).

Glad the colours were to your liking. Trying to avoid the 'cold' look my site had at one time.

The chat at the top of the screen was something I considered necessary because visitors were missing replies. I am not too worried about nasty entries because swear words can be blanked out from the chat box. Can't see me getting many headbangers on the site anyways. Never know though but that is just life. Why ruin something good for a few idiots? Anyone posting an entry in the chat section can be notified wherever they are on the site now. The chat box I have made to refresh itself too after a set period.

Also glad you like the content so far because really there isn't much yet. I have an extensive computer technology background so the site will feature lots to do with such at some point.

You have a problem with the middle content all of a sudden going below the bottom yellow line. This when viewed from a small screen.

Also you get a side bar when you put your mouse on the next to last catagory. Between transport and win prizes.

I keep altering the middle section at the moment. More content makes the section enlarge and since the bar at the bottom is fixed there is always the danger that the section overflows it. You probably logged on when I was messing with the middle section contents. Thinking of using an iframe for the middle section as I might put lots of different links below it. The iframe will keep the content of the middle section fixed then and make altering the text a lot easier.

The text mouse pointers cause the scroll bar to show oddly which is annoying. Probably the cause of the odd scollbar showing between the last few sections. Might have to rethink that part.
