Hall Family Website
The overall layout of your site is easily accessible and should work well for your friends and family. However, I do think that a few small changes in your overall color scheme would tighten your site up immensely. The blues and the grays don't go very well together, at least not here. If I were the one tinkering with it, I'd have to toggle it around until I found the perfect combination. (And, since I tend toward perfectionism, that could take hours.)
To throw out a few ideas that seem like they might look good--though one should always let his own eyes be the final judge--perhaps you could make the light gray section where your text is concentrated white for high contrast readability. Then, perhaps, you could use this very same light gray to replace the dominant dark blue background. Then maybe choose a complimentary color for the light blue title header: I am thinking maybe maroon perhaps? (Think of a gray business suit with a tie that uses complementary colors sparingly.) If your site were all gray, I don't think maroon would look good, but if your main column is white, it might be just the thing. Also, with a maroon header (or other color), you might encode your hyperlinks to match.
Whatever colors you use, I do think that spending more time in their selection would be advisable, though whether my color combination is to your liking (or if it would even look good) is up for grabs. :) In any case, the color factor could revolutionize your site: never underestimate the aesthetics of color. If it were music falling upon the ears, you would want your notes to harmonize; what is true of sound waves is also true of light waves: harmonized colors are like a finely tuned symphony playing in concert.
