Default www.Loveys-By-Design.com

Hi,
I'm a stay-at-home mom who recently turned my love for sewing into a unique small business and am looking for others to check out my site www.loveys-by-design.com and let me know what I can do to improve it! I do all of it myself.
Thanks!
Tracey Hartley

Default Neato site.

I like your design, can tell you spent some time on it. The only suggestion I can make is make the font a little bit bigger for the links on the left and try not to use bold so much. Your description has special characters such as & which may appear as you see it here in the search engines. It may benefit to shorten it a bit too. Cute site though ;).

I agree with Elite Skills regarding the size of your navigation fonts. They're a bit small for grandparents to read, and quite a few might be interested in your little "Loveys". They're very sweet!

I'd also consider a different color font from that bright purplish-pink. It's bright enough that it kind of vibrates against the light purple background. If you're trying to find a color that stands out from the light background, but is also different from the dark blue, try looking at the Color Schemer website to choose some compatible colors.

Your navigation is also a bit confusing. You've got underlined text in the main part of your index page. Most times it's a link, but sometimes it isn't ("What is a Lovey?". That's a bit confusing and could cause people to leave your site because they can't find the information they're looking for to place an order.

Finally, your ordering process is a bit confusing. If you contact PayPal, they can probably talk you through setting up your site to actually handle the entire ordering process through their company, including selecting styles, colors and fabric choices online. That will make it much easier for impulse buys on your website.

Good luck with your business. I think your loveys are adorable!

HTH!

Default Very cute!

Hi Tracey,
I just "lovey'd" your shop! My sister is in the process of adopting a Russian baby, so I've bookmarked you for future reference. I'm sure I'll be needing some creative gift ideas shortly. :-)

My site design suggestions would be to 1) make the navigation fonts in the left column a bit bigger, 2) reduce the main body font sizes to minimize scrolling, and 3) add a free PayPal shopping cart to increase impulse buying.

Best of luck. Your products are adorable....
