Doesn't look too bad overall. The navigation could be a bit more interesting and not use grey as the hover colour on the link.

The main text on the first page is too close together, try and find a way to spread it across the screen with some pictures or something similar.

I think the header image would look better if the actual image went further across before it blended into the blue. The bottom corners on the search and categories tables look a bit funny, may want to correct that?

Clean and tidy. I presume that 'Rock River' is a place somewhere - it doesn't say so. You need a tag line.

To beat Yellow Pages you are going to have to offer something they can't - not just an online version of YP. What about maps, feedback on entries? And of course a directly where people pay to get in and there are no free enties will never be comprehensive and never earn acceptance...

I think there could be something wrong with the search facility? It doesn't appear to produce results? (Tried it in Netscape 7.2 and IE).

Could you please test that again for me. There is not much content at this time for it to search, But if you just search for "all" It should bring up some results.

Thanks

Default nice site

i really like the layout and the ease of navigation through the site. it is very easily understandable. site has lots of empty links, but you seem like you are on the right path for your area. maybe you can put more examples of work as well.otherwise very nice site and very easy on the eyes.

... and sure enough - you search for ALL - and get one link :)

Okay, as long as you're aware of the situation.

I like the site but with a name like Rock River I would think there should be more pictures of a rocky river.

The header is good but maybe you could add a couple more pictures to the header and a picture in the text.

To me the site looks a little plain.

Other then that it is a really nice looking site.

i like the nice clean feel. Its niec and easy to navigate too.

the only thing i would suggest is breaking the "categories" area into sub-categories. it would just be easier to figure out where to go

The site needs a little more graphical interest, in my opinion. Your only graphic is two people kayaking and it's really small. Expand the height of your header and add a collage of Rock River photos. Add photos to the body of your site as well.

The text on the home page spans too wide for easy reading on my 1280 wide screen - think newspaper columns and set a width for text like 500 pixels.

Your external links need to open in a new window (Saux Valley Events, for example). I clicked on the events link and lost your site.

What's the point of putting your URL under the logo? If the visitor sees that doesn't it mean that he’s already on the site? How about something that will give them a better idea what the site's about. Something like: Rock River area business directory...
That beat up cliché "Your source..." is SOoooooooooo old...

Default k

nice site. Clean and to the point. I understood why I was there as soon as the page opens. Wasn't much I could do after that. But thats beside the point. I would use this site if I lived in your area. It just needs content now. Also I think the logo could use a little more life. The mirrored R's are kind of uncomfortable to me. I could see the R's facing the same way with a river flowing between them. And the name: "Rock River" underneath. Good Luck!

Default great site

Really nice job.

I agree that some more, larger pictures would make the site even more attractive.

Cheers,
Andrew
