Hi,
Finally I'm in the process of launching my new website, and I would like to have any feedbacks, suggestions or problems observed on the site http://www.anjolee.com Thank you, |

http://www.anjolee.com/wedding/bands/classic/wb1046.htm
this page isn't found - its when you look at wedding bands, the classic milgrain ones, and the ladie's platinum in 4mm. Other than that great site - excellent navigation and good graphics - the product images are v good quality - I would buy from you (may send my boyfriend the link as a hint!). Was a bit slow to load on my UK broadband. Maybe you could make your main menu on the left and your page headings css as well - would save you an awful lot of javascript n your heading and also speed up page load - plus look that bit sharper and more polished! |

I think the site it beautiful. The vague photo of the lady in the upper right is so vague as to be a little creepy to me, but that is just a matter of opinion.
I was intrigued by one of your right hand rings that was priced at $0.00 (one can dream, right:). I followed the link and tried to add it to my cart and got this error "Error Code: MER-DTB-00370 Description: Product 'rhr820_75' not found " I went to add another right hand ring to my cart and it didn't do anything because I forgot to select a size. Although real customers would probably not forget, maybe there could be a warning note? Anyway, once I entered the size, it added the ring to the cart, but it also added a gold bracelet that I hadn't looked at. When you click on the item in the shopping cart, it takes you to a description, but there is no photo. On this kind of site, I think a photo is a must here. The site is really artfully done and the navigation is simple and clear. Nice job.

Some of your text is blurr on some of the pages.
Other than that it looks good. |
Please.
Turn your style sheets off Turn your pictures off then try to navigate using your tab key. You have NO alt tags There is absolutely no mention of your site's name. How can search engines even find you!? Your site is invisible to a great minority of home shoppers. Other than that - I even like the "creepy" girl's eyes. S-exy man, s-exy |

From an amateurs point of view, I thought it was eye catching, stylish, good choice of colours... and sexy too...

Here are some stats on browser usage
from W3chools http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp "...most users are using a display with 800x600 pixels or more, with a color depth of at least 65K colors." From Browser News: http://www.upsdell.com/BrowserNews/stat_trends.htm "Most users have 1024x768 and higher, but a large minority have 800x600." |
Intersting stats you found there. Makes you wonder on what you should or should not use on your computor.

I agree, rather leave it at 800x600 resolution (between 750-760 width) as it's extremely annoying for those users to have to scroll horisontally.
Your picture quality is good allthough I thought the images were either too large or the layouts weren't inspired enough. There is some whitespace to the right of the first content image and the welcome section, which makes things look our of balance, but it might just be because I tested it 800x600. Still think the top 5 content images on the home page should be at 60-80% of the current size. The ring's allright... With regards to the top navy bar, lose it and move your content and top-right menu up. Also post text links at the bottom of your pages to your main categories plus adding the alt and title properties to your image tags, (including your main menu). Hope that helps a little! MtraX |

Try designing your site for more fluidity. Then you won't have to worry about how it displays in different size browsers.
http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/tables...ssibility.html Try to get away from tables to format the layout. |

I guess I am coding my site right after looking at that site you gave. At least I hope I am.

I have tired to use one of those sites. The one I use is netmechanic which I like. At least I understand what they say about my site. I know I have some code that it says I am not suppose to have but when I have checked out the big boys I find they have the same code as I do. What is right or wrong?
I think of it as a challenge not as a chore to get past the W3C validator.
Just because some "big boys" get away with ignoring the needs of accessibility and good web design doesn't make it right. Check out the score of this "big boy" http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...microsoft.com/ But you are correct, netscape, macromedia, ebay, target, walgreens, kmart, espn, all failed miserably. Most don't even declare a doctype. for shame! |
It makes you wonder if what code you use is right or wrong and who is to say if it is right or wrong. If I can see what the site is like than the code must be right? You just don't know any more. Is everyone starting to use the same code or what? I used those programs to code and have gotten more errors in what I was doing than when I program from scracth. At least now I understand some of the things I do. Bottom line is just keep going and hope that what your doing is what needs to be done.
You have pepsi, coke, jc penny, walmart to name a few more. |

It's a glamorous site... and it had better be because you're up against especially tough competition! Good luck.
I like the way you identified credit cards and shipping options at the bottom of the page with their respective trademarks. It looks very professional, and it's an idea I intend to promptly borrow. Getting back to this: "This site is best viewed in 1024x768 and Internet Explorer 5 or higher."... I really think it's mistake for ANYONE to put this sort of nonsense on their webpage. First of all, it's unrealistic to expect customers to launch a new browser or reset screen-size upon reading this text. Second, if the page doesn't look right on their screen, they'll know without you telling them. And, most importantly, it tells your customers you're not sensitive to and willing to accommodate their preferences. My point is that these DOZEN WORDS are a turn-off regardless of what browser and screen size users prefer. If your first priority isn't customer service, I'll shop somewhere else... ---- Now, I have a couple personal opinions you didn't ask for, and I won't be offended if you completely ignore them. 1. I know you offer "free shipping"... but I still don't like the idea of receiving diamond jewelry by UPS. Within the U.S., the postal service provides FAR more secure service (i.e. "certified mail") at a bargain price. With UPS I know to expect a big hassle when the diamonds get lost in transit. (I also prefer to order multiple similar pieces and return the ones with the best cut and clarity.) 2. I know I'm not alone in caring about where my diamonds come from. I don't buy "conflict diamonds". If you offer non-conflict diamonds, you should say so in your "About Us" page. You should also mention and explain the difference on your "education" page. Lately I've been buying Canadian diamonds (both mined and cut there) and happily paying a slight premium price for that. It's worth it! 3. You apparently don't offer stones that have been laser-engraved with serial number or other ID, or that have been independently graded (with documentation provided.) For these reasons, there's zero chance I'd buy diamond jewelry from your website. If you can support this sort of preference, you should consider saying so prominantly. |
