Munkyonline.co.uk
I spent a long time on this a while ago. Does it give the right look? I've been reluctant to advertise it as i'm doing other things now but i'd really love to do this professionaly. Any ideas/ comments would be greatly arreciated.

First comment, not enough contrast between the background color and the text color. A little hard to see.
Your java script menu might need a little tweaking. It seemed to slow the site down.
Your page does not validate for HTML. It does validate CSS, but the button goes to the validate page instead of the 'no error' page.
I did notice a few spelling errors here and there. Might want to doublecheck that.
I like the logo, but until your name is better known, you should have a text version of the name more prominent near the top. People might not recognize the monkey.
Good colors.
Hope this helps.

Thanks
Cheers for your comments! By javascript menu do you mean the nav bar at the top with the image rollovers?
I was thinking about changing the colours. It does look a bit bland compared to the bright interface.
I don't know why I put my D.O.B on there. I agree, that should be removed.
I'll check the spelling and validation again too!
Thanks again!

Re: Thanks
Care to add my site to your useful sites? :)
Is there any way of making the lines on your site to go faster? Drawing the boxes, ect.
I was looking at the sites you did. Seems to all have the same theme. YOURS Even though they are all different they all have the same theme, which is your sites. Intersting. Don't know if others picked that up or not.
Why ask for a persons phone number when they fill out the contact forum?
I would think that keeping your logo would be better than having a text link like kingman said. If you start out with it, which is a good logo in my opinion, I would keep that for it anyone comes to your site they would remember that instead of the text link.
I did not see any alt tags in your graphic. Also you might consider putting a link in your logo when someone trys to click on it, it will take you back to your home page.

Yeah i'll add your website to the useful links page!
The only way of making those lines faster is to reduce the image file size. Not sure how much smaller I can make it. Will have a look tho. It is pretty slow on a dial-up.
The sites on there are all made by me as it's my portfolio. Though they are not all MINE!
Asking for a persons phone number is a good idea I thought as I'd be able to get in contact with a customer on a personal level. Plus e-mails can easilly be lost or filtered out as spam.
I agree about the logo, no need for a text link, they can read the URL in the address bar! Good idea about the link to the homepage though. Which graphics don't have alt tags?

Good colours and design.
1. Is Firefox better / safer than Opera 8.0? Why
not compare Firefox with Opera 8.0? I use all
three. My son of 20 means Opera 8.0 is better
than Firefox. My time is too short do go deeper
into that.
2. PC Security : Adaware SE, Spybot , AVG Anti-
Virus. Not impressing. Spybot OK.
3. Good enough contact info. Linked to you in
Sitedevelopement + Design. Would not link to
you in the security cathegory.
Tell me if you want your link deleted.
My link collection http://multifinanceit.com/it/security/links.htm
on security. You would perhaps have some links deleted.

Your main graphic I did not see an alt tag. In fact all of your main graphic on all of your pages does not have an alt tag to it.

Oh, you mean the interface header? I didn't even think about putting alt tags onto that. Will add that to my list of things I need to change!

Cheers jkomp! I designed it using Fireworks. I really like it too. I have posted for it to be reviewed in the logo section - it's had some mixed comments but generally they were good!

yeah just noticed the thread in the logo review section posted there too. BTW about the site I dont think the main body quite does justice to the creativity of the header. Its not bad or anything, just a little bland.

Please do not make a Blogged Chat of this forum.
In that respect this forum is much better than WemasterWorld so long.
My life is too short to read blogged chats.
To your information, I have Email verification and do not want to turn it off as I have done at
WemasterWorld.

calm down mate. This is a community as well as a forum, so such posts help to build a cohesive structure between members of the community. In short; as long as its within the rules of this forum I will post whatever i want. Should a minimum word count per post be introduce i will be all too happy to obey it.

Think the logo is great , The only thing I would say is that the main colour may need to be changed to give some contrast , unusually for a flash design site its nice to see you are not afraid to put up some ball park costings as oppossed to a request for further info on a lenghty form .
best of luck with it

I also wondered - what on earth is that Kgun bloke on about? My Son of 20?? What does that mean? If you're referring to my age I'm 21!
Comparing firefox and opera? If you hadn't noticed that's noting to do with what my site is about! It's really such a shame that your life/time is too short! I reckon you'd have a bit more time though if you stopped whining about it on most of your posts!
Wasn't trying to impress anyone in my profile! I was just saying what I like to use. Please delete the link to my website! Your site causes firefox to crash thanks to that java thing at the top of the page!

It is amazing to me how off track things can get. Is this the day time soaps or will you help me forum? Not a very good way of getting users to post for help.
Now about the monkey site. As I said before I like it. Wheather it needs more color or not the only way of finding out is putting some on it and see. Maybe just the logo would need some color?
You added some color I see. Still see DOB
I see something of a reflection in your logo area. 2 boxes in the top right hand corner. They suppose to be there?

Yeh, well it's always fun to have a bit of a bitchin!
Anyway, the d.o.b. is gone as advised by webhost1. I put those boxy things in the top right corner cos it looked a bit naked. No real purpose. Any suggestions for what else i could put there?
