Default revamped http://www.unique-business-solutions.com

Hi everyone..

I am back again, after working hard on my site, and seeking more advise. I know it is the holidays and hope all are having safe and happy holidays, but if any of you have the time to take a peek, I would be so grateful. Just need to know I am headed in the right direction with it before I put much more into it. Thanks in advance for anyone that takes the time to read this.

Sincerely,
phkgirl

Loads reasonably fast on my modem. The Search Engine graphic forces a horizontal scrollbar in 800x600 (it's fine until that loads). Left menu bar seems a bit too wide and spacings around the text seems a bit too wide resulting in much scrolling to see all of the menu. Otherwise, a good design. Good luck with it.

Default Anyone else?

I am interested in hearing from newbies as well as advanced please? Is my site newbie friendly? Is it advanced enough to be interesting? I will continuously work on it, striving to reach the masses, but need input as to what can improve it. Any other suggestions?

Thanks sincerely!!

Subdivide your site into more general options and make your left link bar thinner and smaller. Adding simple arrows and css can make it look all the more professional. The top image is too large. It's like 33k which will take someone 6 seconds to load on 56k. Optimize your images. There is another that is 13 I think. Overall it's a bit too big in filesize. You really don't need the alexa thing and web award pending image on the front page.

Default Thanks Elite!

I do appreciate your words of wisdom and will be working on these improvements tonight.

Now, I have two questions for you. Should I carry the alexa and web award pending at all or just do away with entirely? Do they have much meaning in cyberspace business world at all?

Thank you again for your time and effort, and to all who are advising me. Again, must say, awesome advise from this forum. I love it!

Sincerely,
phkgirl

Whatever you did was good, you shaved 10k off. Many 56k'ers go 1-3k a second and every second counts.

At the bottom of your source code this is there.
Code:
<META content="" name=description>
<META content="" name=keywords>
<META content=survivor@mynewroads.com name=author>
<META content="" name=generator>
..Why? The only thing that does is potentially screw up the search engines listings and give your email to evil crawlers.
I still say you should thin the text on the side. Currently it looks big bold and misaligned. It appears like your using the special character for a spacer so it doesn't align it when the text wraps. Instead just center the them in the table to prevent that effect. Optimally you should thin the height of the table rows and make the links there just as big as the links elsewhere, just maybe a different color or hue. The webaward hurts the integrity of your site if your acting as a professional. If your site is worthy of praise and power your inward links will show it, not some cheesy company. The alexa thing is ok I guess, I'm not sure how fast it loads and lately it hasn't been the most reliable site. 1,500,000 hold no major bragging rights and the average joe will say, 'Say, that therrz a big number.' Your focus is the inexperienced anyway right? It's a cool site, those are the things that poke out to me though.
