A couple ideas:
  • Do you have an archive of the subscription content from previous days/weeks? This might help visitors decide whether they want to subscribe, and the content would likely help you with search engine rankings.

    I didn't notice a privacy policy anywhere - this would probably be very helpful in assuring potential subscribers that their information is safe with you.
Just some initial thoughts...

I have seen some sites with meta tags saying
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX,FOLLOW">

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="all">

<meta name="robots" content="index,follow"><meta name="MSNbot" content="index,follow"><meta name="googlebot" content="index,follow"><meta name="yahoobot" content="index,follow"><meta name="revisit-after" content="1 day">

Does this help with search engines?

Personally i think it completly depends on the site of your website, if you have a small site and want as much exposure as possibly, these tags simply delay page loading time, if however you have a big website and dont want certain pages (forums, open email addrssses etc) caching then look into these tags.

Personally i think the more exposure the better so do without.

Default poor contrast

The first thing I noticed about the site was the poor contrast. It's the kind of contrast that could make one dizzy. I'm young and still have good eyes, so I don't even want to think about what an older person sees when he views the site.

The blue background reminds me of the infamous Microsoft "Blue Screen of Death", the screen that appears when the Windows operating system has a fatal error.

The links on the left side of the page are inconsistent -- that is, they change and move around when you go from page to page. Some links appear on some pages, while they are absent on others.

You may want to call the "Testimonies" page something else. It appears to be a page of subscriber comments and praise for the site. In a religious context, "testimony" usually means the life story of someone who came to believe in God and/or Jesus.

Your colour scheme is hard on the eyes and very confusing.

Default review

You should go through all your pages and make sure each image has an alt tag.

If you lighten up the blue a bit it would help.

Maybe a nice cloudy day background image would help give the site an ethereal (dictionary.com: Of the celestial spheres; heavenly. Not of this world; spiritual. ) which is the sort of mood your site seems to be after.

I would make the font a teense smaller, and left align the text in the navigation bar.

Of course if you do decide to use a cloud background image you will have to change the color of your text to black or dark blue.

Default text & background colors

Some ideas:

1. Yes, I agree. The background and text colors makes my eyes little bit dizzy. What about white background and dark grey (or black) text?

2. You can add several new pages i.e: About Us and Privacy Policy

3. On the front page you can add:
- Today's Devotion (with link to archieve devotions if possible)
- New (or some) prayer requests in order other can pray for it too

4. On the Subcription page, you might need to specify what people will get when the subscribe and in what method (html email or text email)

Default Maybe more of a contrast

Maybe something like this. A lighter color is definitely easier on the eyes.

You may also want to look into some css for your links so they change color on mouse over. Integrating css before the site gets very large is a good idea, because you can change the color or font of the text along with many other things by altering the css file.

The content is awesome. Good Luck!

I was able to bring up a director (folder viw) view of the site, maybe your host can change a setting to prevent this.
