Default www.thebuteykocenter.com

firstly my apoligies for not getting over here as often as I would like. I am a member of a few online forums and haven't been able to keep up to date with some. On 1 I am a sub-admin. and I also run my own community forum, so I am kept busy....

Which leads me to my pet project at the moment.

http://www.thebuteykocenter.com

A little on the site.
Buteyko Breath Therapy was a set of 'Breathing Exercises', which when practised were found to alleviate the symptoms of some 150+ known diseases. In some cases such as Asthma complete cure was achieved!
The site is for a new center that is opening early spring next year and is currently online as an ongoing construction site. Owners choice not mine.

I used Frames with a tone/color theme within the brown/red scale. I have also tried to affect a 'Pastel' type of effect, warm and calming.
half of the main materail is now online and the first part of the archive or Further Studies section should be up by end of week along with links to books (available in pdf download).
Would be interested on comments etc...
many thanks..
:)

Hello! You have a lot of good information to offer. My suggestions would be to:

Maybe go a little lighter on the yellow. It's a tad harsh on the eyes with the red text. Not that bright is bad, one of my sites has a BRIGHT yellow and it seems to work ok I suppose. This one just kind of strained my eyes a little for some reason. If you're going for a calming color scheme, I'm not sure that's it. I'm curious to see what others say about it. I could be off the mark!

I would stretch out the left side navigation section a little. It seems so squished.

Not all of the links on the left work so I assume you're still working on it!

Great start and I wish you the best of luck!

thanks for the comment Leisa. I'll have a look at that yellow and maybe soften it a bit. One of my problems is I'm stuck with an old 15" SVGA monitor at the moment and the thing is acting up. I have to get a new one I know but well..Times are hard as they say :(
I reckon I should 'ease' that nav bar a bit but I don't want it to wide and you guessed correctly- I haven't finished that content yet (working on it) so I left the links dead on purpose. I put them in though to show folk that other content is on it's way and hopefully entice them back for more of a look.
I have to start sorting it's php stuff as well by end of week/next week for it's Questions and answers service. so A lot still to do and thats without it's secure online clinic! (Another part of the service hopefully for the beginning of the new year/early spring).
thanks again,
:)

Just my humble opinion but since the internet is a visual medium a few images might be in order, maybe of the professor or the human anatomy (conservative of course). Or maybe even something like the sea shore or a streaming brook (get the picture) no pun intended. Just a thought, it is your site. The colors don't feel calming. But again, a work in progress is subject to change. As I am an asthma sufferer I wouldn't mind visiting this site when it's completed.

If you visit the home page a link is now available. (Just click on Proffessor buteyko's name)A lot more material is now up and more studies pages are due. The book section has just opened ( This is a commercial section) at the moment we are featuring two books by Artour Rakhimov, Ph.D (downloadable in .pdf format/ payment via paypal)

Also the header is only temporary and will eventually contain a picture of The actual Buteyko center. Thats in the works at the moment.
Thanks for your comments and please do check This Technique out, even if you don't come back to the site..You'll Be very surprised at the result.
her's the first main news article http://www.thebuteykocenter.com/buteyko3_news.htm That study has just been completed andfrom what I can gather is sending shockwaves through The British Thoracic Society.
I now practice this technique and for years at this time of the year I have been plagued with colds or flu. This year? Nothing! and all I have done this year that could have caused this change is this breathing technique. (No choice but to learn it when your working on it all the time)
Thanks for the comments,
Merry Christmas :)
