Mathias,

The site has a very clean look, and it shows the amount of work that went into it.

It loaded very slowly for me, and I'm on a medium speed DSL. The home page is not that large, so I'm not technical enough to figure why the delay, unless its the scrolling area at the bottom of the screen. Since the studies say web surfers will only wait about 5 seconds for a site to load, you may have a problem there.

The only other comment I'd make from a marketing standpoint is about the information on your home page. I don't know what your objective is for the site. Right now, it looks like just an informational site about your company. If you also want it to be a source of sales leads, I'd suggest putting more sales/marketing info on the home page.

In poking around, I discovered that you supply catering and informal channels. I'd make that point on the home page. In fact, if you want the site to sell, you probably need to speak to each of your market targets on the home page and direct them to where they can find info about how you can serve them.

I'd also take a look at your meta tags. Having the title of the home page being just Cairns isn't very helpful if you want people to find you based on your services. Your page title, description, keywords, and the words on your home page all need to relate. So, if you want people to find you by searching for "baked beans supplier", then you need to make sure those four things are consistent on the pages you target for that product.

You might want to consult with an SEO expert if you want to use the site as a sales tool.

Good Luck! Hope this helps.

Kathleen

Thanks so much Kathleen. There is a point you made as to the objectives of the site. The client asked for a site that will just showcase their products and services and not necessarily to sell via the web.

But before I outline some of the challenges we met, perhaps I should wait for more feedback from anyone out there.

I will investigate why the site is taking longer to load and also the issue on the meta data.
