Default Requesting Reviews on my New Site please.

hi,

A wee while since I've had chance to come around here though I did get chance for the odd read now and then. Reasons are many and most of it fun learning code etc.

Anyway I've just opened a new service for Ireland called http://www.blogireland.ie

I am using mainly open source php programmes for the core of the system. I found a really nice Template driven Guestbook yesterday evening with quite a lot of features, is in xhtml and installs in less than 15mins. I'll be making a new template set for it to blend with the main site.

So I'm looking for what your overall feel of the site is like to you.
Is it easy to navigate? One of my important concerns is 'Simplicity of Navigation'.
Is it understandable to what I offer? Is there to much or to little in the way of introduction/directions of use?

I'm also looking for advice on Merchandising. Obviously I don't want to be caught with some scammer so I'm looking for some reasonble or good recomendations in that area.
And I'm also looking to promoting the site/system but I'll visit the SEO threads for that after this bit.

Many thanks for your views

the link again just in case you missed it in the text above http://www.blogireland.ie

Nomad,

I don't know much about blogging, but can give a general reaction to your home page. I think the navigation is clear - I'd know better if I knew what you were talking about. Couple suggestions:

The color scheme on the home page isn't my taste. I don't think the colors go together very well, so I'd change that if it were me. Also, the light blue text on the white is difficult to read. And, the visited link color is so light that it is unreadable. It looks like the visited links have disappeared.

I'll leave the technical/blogger stuff to more knowledgeable folks.

Hope this helps.

Kathleen

thanks for the comments. I've adjusted it for that. I also added some dashed borders - hmm not sure on that I'll see if any more comments on it.

Thanks again :)
