www.PowerToBeWell.com
I've received some reviews on this site that are wonderful. I am more interested in the marketing perspective of this site. This is a "wellness" site. Come on and Hit me ;o)
www.powertobewell.com
Thanks,

Keith,
I've got a couple of suggestions. First, it might just be me, but the image behind the doctor seems to make the header look too complicated. I'd soften it up or use something not so big and bold.
Second, I was really confused about the shopping. It looks like you can shop online, but then when you try to need to enter a VIP password. If that is the case, I'd explain how to use the site a bit more so people don't get frustrated. I tried clicking on the shopping cart, but kept ending up on the books page, not any of the product pages.
However, it looks like the site was quite a bit of work, and overall it works well.
Hope this helps.
Kathleen

My first impression of the site is cluttered, everything seems jumbled. Things need to be softened a bit, plus the site would "feel" better centered on the page.
I agree with Kathleen on the header - the photo of the trees is a bit too bold. It also looks odd where the doctor has been cut off but the tree image continues on below him.
In reading the product descriptions, try adding some bullet points and paragraphs to make that information easier to read. Will you be adding images of the products soon? I think that's important if the products will be sold on the site.
Don't forget about SEO issues - you need to add META tags and ALT tags, plus your TITLE tag is way too long. Be sure to spend time with SEO before submitting.
Good luck!

Thank you both for your comments.
I agree with both of you.
I haven't gotten into the SEO aspect of the site yet.
We stayed up all night and redid it. Whew!
The original description and market that we were given was all wrong b/c Dr. Joe was given bad info from the people that he aquired his marketing list from.
Anyway, could you have another go at it.
BTW: I am aware that the "Forum" doesn't work, and there are few elements that will appear incomplete.
Thanks,
Keith

I like the site a good deal. It is just a wee bit "wide" for 800x600 I would note, and that third column, at least as coded so far, might be able to see reduction and even inclusion into the second column, thereby reducing some of the clutter effect and letting you make sure the 800x600 crowd (still 30% of so of most of my hits) visit without horizontal scrolling.

Not sure why, but I keep getting 'this page cannot be displayed', so I cannot comment.
www.powertobewell.com just doesn't seem to be working, are you experiencing any down time?

The site is working fine.
You know I've had some funny stuff happen with different websites where I get a message like that, but the rest of the world can see it.
(Maybe, like a customer of mine so nobly said, "I think they are updating the internet, or something!)
Just Kidding.

What is a limey?
Page cannont be displayed generally means that there is something wrong with the page, but there isn't.
Try www.healthlist.com.
Which brings up another question. They have 6 domains "pointing" to this site (not redirecting). Will this reak havoc on SEO?

limey = US wartime slang for a brit :)
"They have 6 domains "pointing" to this site (not redirecting). Will this reak havoc on SEO?"
as far as I am aware, a 301 (permanant redirect) redirect if the prefered method of pointing one domain to another.
:-D

I admire people subjecting their labor to a bulletin board review. It may be brutal sometimes, but honest most of the time. Here you go.
Somehow the overall look does not convey "Powerto be Well" theme. The blue banner is way too heavy. The logo is burried below and is heard to see. Too many elements hang loosely without supporting each other but rather creating untidy clauueterd feel. The tag line above just adds to the mess. The part below looks like any other Nuke-portal, is too busy and too boxy. Overall looks very corporate, lacks air and direction. (Could it be because it was designed by "Corporate Face"? :)
If the main page is link directory, make a visual indicator where to click with a promiss that there's more than just an abbreviated sentense under a header.
And lastly, please loose the burning folder. Animated gifs has been extinct for years now, and for a good reason - they annoy the heck out of everyone.

Thanks for the comments.
Actually "Power to be Well" was the initial scope of the project and the site was originally much different than it is now. After launch there was more clarity given as to the "actual" scope of the project so we fast tracked it over night. The site is actually NOW a site that is actually called "Health List". There is a huge subscriber base that uses this site for information. Where the original HealthList.com (Prior to my customer) used to only push product and newswise information, this site is designed to provide information.
As far as the firey folder. You are right, try to come up with another way to attract folks to the MB.
Later
