Default Good traffic - no enquiries - please critique my site

Hi guys,

I'm at a loss at to what's not working in the general flow of sales. I get reasonable traffic, some of which is generated by AdWords and Enahnce paid listings, but I get almost no enquiries at all.

Is there something wrong with the look/feel of my site?

Maybe the usability is poor?

Any suggestions at all?

Thanks.

i cant say the site is off putting, maybe the pricing info. on each product could be made more obvious. The product pictures are not that claer either, that may put someone off buying or ordering online. They may feel that they would rather see the size and shape of the glasses etc. before they buy it?

You have a shop front that you normally sell from i assume?

Do any of these customers see your products online but come to you and buy in person ? I know this is the case for a furniture shop i work with, no feedback from site but customers coming to shop after looking at it. The view of this is whether they come in or email it don't matter so long as they buy somthing ! lol

Just a thought on the type of customer and product rather than the site.

Good luck.

Nice site, decent layout very useable.

There are a few things I would suggest, based on the US market (I happen to compete with your company in laser cutting, etching and engraving..)

The fact that your company is based in Israel is not immediately clear, consider posting the fact more prominently.

Post a privacy policy and a Satisfaction Guarantee Page.

Change the About us Page to actually be about your company, not about the laser equipment you are using. The page tells me nothing about YOU, just the technology.

Add a page to describe the laser technology and move the curren About Page there.

Try a page targeting Jewish specific Holidays and celebrations. You might hit a niche in the U.S. market.

I hope some of this was of help.

Ruvane,

I can see some things that might be slowing you down on orders. I don't mean to be critical, but here are some of my reactions to the site:

-The home page is too busy. I didn't know where to look. Your menu is well integrated into the header, but maybe too well!
-I'd put a very simple overview on the home page, and not have the three narrow columns. I'd restructure how you present your product line. Maybe separated between custom and standard with custom engraving. Then, give people a really simple way to get to what they want to see. And, show it to them quickly. You have to scroll down on the Gifts page before you can see the products.
-I agree with the earlier comments about satisfaction guarantee and more about the company.
-People want to be able to buy online without needing to contact the vendor. I'd add a simple payment solution. Even PayPal "Add to Cart" buttons on each item. I don't want to have to contact you to figure out how to pay for something.
-I'd make up a form for custom orders. You say "For custom made items we require you to send us exact details of your requirements". You could boil that down to specific questions you need to have answered and all I'd need to do is fill in the form.

Your products are beautiful. I think a little redefinition of your product line and updating a few things on the site would make a big difference in your online sales. You've got the traffic, and that's usually the hard part!

By the way, your Products menu nav button is broken on the Orders page. If you click on it, it doesn't drop down. After I found some of the products, and discovered I couldn't choose something to purchase, I went to orders and discovered I'd have to contact you to place an order. Then, I wanted to go back to the Products, and couldn't do it. That might be frustrating some people.

Hope this helps.

Kathleen

Hi Jerry, Kathleen,

I see all your points. I'm going to start work straight away.

Hell, sometimes it's tough not being able to see the wood for the trees!

Your points are all well taken and I thank you for your time. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have visitors that just get up and leave.

Thanks guys,
Ruvane.

One thing i might consider doing, is putting your testimonials all on a seperate page; your first page should tell visitors exactly what you do; Show some more products; I agree with one of the webpro world members-- perhaps it is a little busy; and yes you do have great products- so show them off a little more.

I like the look of your website; How about having your link directory be more specific? You could have a link directory with just gift ideas, because that is part of the theme of your website; This may get you more targeted traffic. I have a health website so i have a lot of health categories and I have done quite well with that.

Best of luck.

I did think about changing the links pages so that each one had a theme linked to my groups of products but wasn't sure whether it was worth it. Now that you mention it as well I'll get started on it.

I do get good targetted traffic from two ppc campaigns that I've refined pretty well - they just don't seem to want to buy!!

Thanks again guys,
Ruvae.
