Hi,
I have about 75 pages on my site www.arounddelhi.com .It is basically a travel website for India where one can get information and booking for various destinations and resorts in India. Pl. be helpful and advise me on how I can improve, especially the navigation part. Thanks in advance. Rakesh Anand |

Generally the page bears witness to having been built over a long time and to be your first try at webdesign, it reminds me of my own. If I were you I would begin again from scratch, it will take shorter time than modifying the page as it is now.
Donīt loose heart, you have all the text and it will be quick to copypaste it in again and now you have learned many things that you can implement from the beginning in stead of adding them later. First of all would I recomend that you learn css (cascading stylesheet) before you redo the pages, it will save you countless hours. The colour scheme. A dark background and orange letters are in my oppinion a bad idea. Research shows that white background (or possibly pale yellow) and black letters are best to read, and therefore sell best. Also the left hand box with resort of the month and whatīs new has a bright yellow background colour that clashes violently with the overall background colour dark blue. The text. As before said, dark fonts on light background are better. You should not use so many types of fonts and you should set the text up in a narrower column, that makes it easyer to read. You should not use underline in text if it is not a link, it is confusing. Generally the text needs to be more uniform. Some pages, especially the first page, lack pictures to liven them up, others have too many pictures. I would recomend one medium sized picture per page, on every page. The resorts you are promoting should be helpful in supplying you with pictures of the places. The navigation can be simplified. If I were you I would only use two layers of pages, the first page and on it I would place a welcome, a nice picture and list of the resorts, one line for each. On each page I would then place all relevant informations, road info and all even if it is repeted on more than one page, it is better than placing a link especially for that purpose, and of course a home link. The fewer clicks the better. I once read that each webpage should be designed like a good roadside billboard, it should be designed so that a viewer is able to take in the art and text in the few seconds it takes him/her to drive by. If it is clear and simple enough the chances for that visitor to stay and have a better look are increased.

I donīt think you are in danger of loosing your listing if you redesign the site. That only happens if you change your domain name. In the long run it will give you more trafic, more people will recomend your site and more people will come back to it.

How about some pictures of india? or any pictures at all? All you have on the webpage is writing in different fonts and the background is too dark- I clicked on your website and I did not realize what you were trying to convey...
Good website idea by the way..
