Default 21stCenturyAdvantage.com

I'd like to submit 21stCenturyAdvantage.com for peer review. This site is for a "start-up" computer school. A key issue is that I'm only interested in visitors who live within an hour or so of Rutland, Vermont, so I'm not sure whether search engine rankings matter. I'm trying to drive traffic to the sight with radio and newspaper ads, but I really need to close a sale once someone does visit.

Default to frame or not to frame

Hi Bob,
www.21stCenturyAdvantage.com

Well, the first question is (as is in one of the
classes you offer) - use frames or not?
My vote - not.

Design-wise: the colored graphic seem out of place
and the header flash is very simplistic. The website
doesn't communicate a "professional" feel to me. I
know the term "professional" has been talked about a
lot on Werpoworld.

I suggest: eliminating the frames, using a CSS based
menu (with mouseovers - like at www.newbedfordhomes.com,
and changing the header. Eliminate the "page last
updated".

In terms of getting people to sign up - you need to provide
them a place/form to do just that. It's not on your
home page.. but it should be. I think you might
change the message you communicate about why to
enroll. Your first paragraph is too long and a
run-on sentence. Break it up and change your
message from "negatives" to positives. As it it now
you say "we don't offer degrees", and we don't have
to meet the requirements the colleges do... OOOPS you
just lost me (as a customer). You message doesn't
imply quality. Which I think you want to convey.

Positive message - ..."learn from experienced instructors
today and apply it in the real world. Education
molded by practical experience."

Even if you are only interested in targeting a fairly local audience, you still need to be geared towards the search engines... and creating your site with frames is not search engine friendly.
the constant movement of the word "advantage" in your title is extremely distracting... and whatever the little letters are around your title are completely unnecessary since it is impossible to read them... even if a visitor can read them, they serve no purpose except to distract from your text.
Your infomation seems to be complete and sufficient for a visitor to make a decision about your courses... perhaps you could offer some sort of discount for applying on-line.
Your contact us goes directly to an email... you should probably have your complete address, phone and fax numbers and your email address. It appears the only way to contact you from your website is via email....

I agree with both info202 and vwebworld

I would get rid of the frames design a better looking logo and redo the navigation menu.
