In reviewing the stats on our web site, 43% of our visitors were using a screen resolution of 800x600. It's still the standard screen resolution for most laptops, which are commonly used by corporate people and decision-makers.
I'm using Firefox to view your site and the scrolling text continually loops, it doesn't stop. |

5o% of users use the proper resoultion as 17" and 19" monitors are not expensive these days and as for firefox how many corporate users do you suppose use that instead of IE5 OR IE6 ?
800 x 600 has not got long left 98% of all visits to web sites are made with IE5-or above |

As a web designer, you need to take into consideration all of the different monitor settings and the various browsers people will use to visit your site and your clients' web site. In order to present to a broad market, you need to design with multiple possibilities in mind.
Firefox is increasing in browser use due to its simplicity and security so don't write Firefox off. 22% of my own web site visitors are using some type of Mozilla browser so I cannot ignore that statistic. (Don't forget about Safari, which is a preference of many Mac users.) If you only design for IE, you're not looking at the big picture and you could lose interest, not to mention potential clients. |

Personally, I don't know a soul that uses 800 x 600, even on a laptop, but they exist. If you feel that those few holdovers aren't in you market stick with 1024 x 768.
However, at 1152 x 864 the copy all breaks out of the header/naviagation and looks pretty funky. I have to agree with MarcieZoob that you copy and the overall feel is not going to attract the customers you seek. Spend some time working on the copy and get your site tested in multiple screen resolutions. Also get your look consistent througout the site. I clicked on you link for hosting specs and got a different look altogether, bad form. Add META tags, you have none. Get rid of the navigation that is'nt (portfolio) and the "site updated." Nobody cares. Your "SEO" link does not work on the homepage but does from the Hosting section, learn about serverside includes. That ought to keep you going for a while. |
