loads quick on 1 GB dsl

should do well only one thing I found is the orange/cream border is drawing my eyes away from where they should be and possibly the text in some places may be a little too small for some

Wow! You have 1GB DSL? There was talk about that in Japan a while back, but nothing seems to have come of it. Fastest we can get here is 45MB, I think - and you only get that speed if you are right by the exchange.

I think your prices are about right and dont seem over the top . How do you plan to get the vistors?

We can get DSL here, but typically it averages 1 to 2 MB per sec in real download speed.

Ah, getting visitors. That is a problem :). Well, we launched the site on Wednesday with a PRWeb Press Release and we have been picked up in a couple of places as a result and got some initial visitors. I am planning on sending out another one soon. We are also trying to capitalize on Valentine's Day (the calligraphy scrolls make great romantic gifts) and have used a targetted ezine ad this week to moderate results and will be having another sent out next week.

After that, I am trying to link build. I think our site is so unique and interesting that it should make it easier to encourage IBLs.

In the long term, I am looking to partner with other Japan-related / romantic gift-related sites by offering them an affiliate scheme. I reckon 12% comission when we are talking about individual sales that come in at over $100 most of the time will be a good incentive.

My big problem is that my boss is really tight and thinks that everything on the internet should be free. Now I have done the big launch, I am not sure I can persuade him to part with a whole lot more cash....

Bummer.

they can send huge amounts of vistors your way and you get exactly what you pay for

I am nervous about using bulk targetted visitors sites as I have read so many bad things about them. I would like to use Adwords, although I want to make sure I know what I am doing before I start. I think I will get Perry Marshall's ebook to help me out with that.

Has anyone got any more ideas about useability? I am particularly interested in what you think about the shopping cart area. Is it clear? Is there enough / too much information? What would you add / take away?
