Default Please review my site http://diets.marketassociate.com

I have worked for a few months to create a one stop resource were people can come and find out all they need to now about the common diet programs on the market. Please give me your honest opinions.

Thanks,
Kenneth Elliott

Great content on your site, you've got a good start to your project.

Try using a stylesheet for your site (CSS) and format all of your body text with the same style. Some pages have Times New Roman (hard to read online) and others have Arial (easier to read). I suggest creating a body text style with a sans serif font and use it throughout for a uniform look.

Your logo is a JPEG - the rule with graphics is anything with text needs to be a GIF. Your logo is very fuzzy and "halo-ed" so create a clean copy and save the file as a GIF. The other images on your site need to be improved in regard to quality. They've been compressed too much and look very spotty and fuzzy. The book images should also be GIF files since there's text in the image.

Your keyword tag has way too many characters. This will act as a negative when getting indexed so pick 20 strong keywords for your keyword tag. You also need to add a description tag and ALT tags to your images.

Good luck with your online venture!

Default Looks Really Nice

Your site looks very nice to me. Very well co-ordinated.

Don't worry about the GIF/JPEG issue. I think that actually GIF files are antiquated. Not much you can do with them. JPG's are probably the best way to go.

Your graphics look just fine as they are.

I do have to scroll a bit to the right to see your entire pages, but, other than that, everything looks really nice to me.

Keep us posted!

Antiquated? GIFs? Unless I'm missing something (and I don't think I am), this is some bad advice. A general rule of thumb:
  • * Use GIF for illustrations, clip art, and images with large areas of flat color
    * Use JPG for photographs and images with gradiant or continuous tones.
For original artwork with text, like logos and clip art, GIF works better and results in a clean copy and crisp edges. When splicing PS or Fireworks files, you will preserve your original colors by choosing GIF as your file type.

JPG formal is for photos or images with continuous variation in color. Do not use JPEG for illustrations, cartoons, lettering, or any images that have very sharp edges - JPG distorts edges where there is a sharp contrast in color. This results in the halo effect around the edges.

Ken, your images do need to be improved, as does your logo, and hopefully by choosing the correct file type, you will be able to do so easily.
