www.LoonRentals.com
Here's a site I created to help get rentals for a ski condo in New Hampshire. I tried to optimize the website for the key words "Nordic Inn New Hampshire and Loon". I'm pleased with the way the site turned out --though, inexplicably, I am unable to get it listed on Google (after months of trying). What do you think? I welcome your thoughts and suggestions on this site! |

Getting listed you may want to conceder adding more content / pages with the them of your key words make sure your images and such are labeled to your key words
Ie ni138b.jpg change to NewHampshire138b.jpg ect.. You get Results 1 - 25 of 25 for "+www.loonrentals.+com/". Off Google so you just have to keep going you are in Google so you have to refin and tweak your site get more links ect.. Read through the forums here there are many tips on how to optimize your site. |

Again, great suggestions. Thank you.
I think the reason I'm not ranking well on Google is because they're banning me for doing a "302 Redirect" to park visitors on the LoonRentals.com default page. (I have several domains that point to this site, and I was simply using an ASP redirect to get them to the right place.) Ken, over on the Google forum, pointed out that I should be using 301 redirects (otherwise Google will think I'm spamming them). It certainly would explain why I'm not listed in the top 500 on Google for the search term "Nordic Inn New Hampshire", but I'm number one for the same search on Yahoo, AltaVista, MSN, and Lycos. Unfortunately, being listed #1 on those other search engines don't mean all that much! I've changed the redirect to a 301. Hopefully that will help. |

Perhaps some more work on your metatags is in order? In addition to previous suggestions. Good luck!

I got a big list of errors with Tidy on your front page's source. They are 'img' tags without 'src'. All these errors could (in my opinion) hamper your rankings and/or confuse spiders. Maybe these could be replaced or corrected. Here's a cut & paste: >img height="1" src width="1"<
I would use a seperate css file to declare table and image attributes. I like the clean design and the images loaded quickly for me (I'm on cable). The nav is consistent and it was nice that you still furnished footer links. I wanted to contact you and had to check the "Book our Condo" page before I found a way. You could place your 1-800 number over your table on the top right as a permanent feature and offer a feedback form for questions. Great job on the design! It does give you that wintery feeling with all the white and is fast loading and clean.

Thanks Tish and TPdotcom for the compliments!
I have image tags without "src" huh? I'll fix that immediately. Good catch! As for the hard to find contact information --that is a tricky issue. In a nutshell, I'm not directly renting the condo out --but rather I use an onsite rental agency that handles renting my condo (along with many others at the Nordic Inn). My goal is to drive traffic to the rental agency --but to make sure that traffic asks directly for my unit. Therefore, I tucked the contact info away to make sure the user reads it in a context where he/she will understand to ask directly for my unit. Otherwise a visitor may glance for the number, call, and get someone else's condo. The online booking piece was easier because, through ASP, I am able to access the rental agency's website behind the scenes and, in effect, act as an intermediary by putting the booking in for my website visitors. I believe this helps to avoid potential confusion for the visitor.
