Basically, I'm a freelancer earning a paycheck in print at a newspaper, but I'm trying to get into a web paycheck. Try to look at from an employers point of view or from a prespective clients point of view.

Thanks

Steve

Every page is big and different and links appear to jumps to different sites. Nothing is explained and google ads are everywhere.

Sorry I don't get it either...

Default Wow

I guess it lacks focus, huh? I'm a graphic designer and the site is a portfolio first, storefront second, information spot third. Its set up for word of mouth, or to be client specific right now, meaning that the only traffic I expect is who I tell. I realize that I should expand my target audience. Any suggestions on how to showcase my various projects/skills? Should I start by re-designing from the ground up with a particular client in mind? What types of business are usually looking for independant website designers?

Steve

I think you've made this site way too complicated for anyone to navigate through. The experience of your site needs to be enjoyable for your web site visitor (and potential client), not to mention user-friendly.

Your dynamic elements seems very "dated" so you're not showing off any kind of new technology. Scale the scope of your site back to a clean portfolio concept and it might be more beneficial in the long run for you.
