| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

I have been running this site for about 2-3 months. My counter shows that people have visited, but noone has purchased anything. Is this normal? Some of the prices are below Amazon and overstock. Could someone give me some advice about increasing sale and/or visitors? I will reciprocate any reviews of my site.

First of all, you have no background colour set - it looks bad on a system with a non-white background.
If I'm looking to buy something off the net, I NEVER buy from a site that looks like this! That's not because it isn't well designed, but because it has a cold and impersonal feel. I don't know why, but it is something to do with the fact that there is no corporate identity of any kind - and yet I'm being asked to trust my credit card details to the compnay almost immediately. Looking at the keywords, it is also one of those site that would crop up no matter what I tried to buy - and they annoy me, too. I have to stress that this is just me, and it doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong with your site.

The site is wider than 1024 pixels, meaning that even on a screen set to 1024x768 you must scroll to the right to see the whole page. Most users have their screen set to either 800x600 or 1024x768. You would do well to break your section of tabs into two horizontal rows of 7 or 8 tabs each rather than the 15 straight across. Of course, that seems to be a part of the surplusalert.com package. I don't know if you can do anything about that.
I think part of your problem with sales may be that there are so many surplusalert.com "stores" in use. How many store owners do they have? As Sualdam mentioned, the site seems somewhat generic, without any true identity other than that created by Overstock Liquidators, Inc. At least you are able to customize your site description and keywords. If you aren't able to do more than that and change colors, I would suggest that marketing is your only available tool that will help. Getting someplace to send out spam is not the answer. Keep in mind that marketing an Internet site does not all take place on the Internet! Get your URL out there where people will see it. Put it in print ads in newspapers and anyplace else you can afford. How about a cheap late-night television commercial on cable? How about a thirty-second radio ad? Unfortunately, most people will remember only the "surplusalert.com" and not the "jamparr" if they don't have the URL right in front of them. Perhaps you could get a memorable domain name that points to the jamparr.surplusalert.com server.
