I'm looking for the following on www.thequiltjunction.com
* qualities for search engines and indexes. I'd like to be easy to find, and like everyone else "number 1" * will it work in the browsers most likely used by my target audience. Think like a quilter - typically female, not a computer "guru", uses a computer "out of the box" without high-end software and add-ons, typically mid-20's to 70 years of age, enjoys crafts, sewing, etc. Usually uses the browsers already installed, nothing like Mozilla, Firebird, Opera, etc. * is it easy on the eyes - easy to read. For example, I was told by pros long ago to NOT have text run from left edge to right edge - too hard to read, too hard on the eyes. Use margins. * my son, a graphic design student and pretty good webmaster (21 yrs old) told me to use multiple columns. I started with 1 single column straight down the middle with about a 5% margin on each side. He politely told me it looked like heck. Give it a good going over - looking for any tips and tricks. I've been at web site building as an amateur for several years- since 1996, I'm just now starting to use CSS, and modernize things - moving away from tables to layout, etc. and attempting to clean it up putting content and key words first. You can't hurt my feelings on this! I admit, I have MUCH to learn, so far it's all self-taught using advice from others. Shadows Papa |

Nice site, and yes I agree that for the type of client that would be tere,,,it should be faily easy to look around...
I have the same about the use of other browser types, 90 % of the market uses explorer and only that of the power users go the alternate browser route. I have the same opion on my site as well,,,,the client type to our site is not the mass buyer, but a buyer seeking beauty,,,thus the concept surrounding the site is that,,,mine still needs adjustments, and I too am leaning towards css as well... www.intelcosmet.com |
