Default www.boydsilverworks.com - awareness jewelry

I would appreciate reviews for http://www.boydsilverworks.com/ - Boyd Silver Works (the owner is Mary Pat Boyd).
We have changed the product, and the focus of the site, therefore also the look of the site.
Is the point clear, or is there confusion? Is the product obvious? Does the look work? Does the site seem trustworthy? Any help with SEO? Unique ideas for promotion?
We sell awareness jewelry. Our feature product is the Silver Ribbon Ring.
We need more sales. I don't think the site is doing justice to the product or the owner.
I know PayPal isn't the best payment solution, there are other options in the cart.
If you would like a reciprocal review please say so, I would be happy to.

Hi Melissa,

I love the concept of what the site stands for and brings. I find the font size to be rather large, even at 1280x1024 for my taste, but that is always the choice of a client or designer dpeending on target market.

Colors work well, loads fast, easy to navigate as well.

Your comments are also welcome for our site as well

IntelCos,
I like your site. It is very pretty.
You should make it easier for visitors to get to the shopping. I wasn't sure where to go first.
I don't like the cut-out graphic in the boutique header. I can't read any of it and it doesn't seem to add anything to the site. I can't read the Ecard button or any of the "Choco..." New Products, either. You should work on the contrast so that color-blind users can use your site as well as older visitors with poor vision.
When I click on a Category I expect a description of some kind. I click on ChocoTyme expecting to learn more about what that is, not get pushed into picking an item. However, when you click to an item the description is excellent, very informative.
The $ sign should be before the amount, not after.
I wanted to go back to the original home page from the boutique to learn more about the Choco products, but I couldn't figure out how to get there.
Why does it tell me what my IP address is?

Thks Melissa,

Now your comments are great, just what I was looking for, well thoughtout and showed you took your time to visit us.

The ip remark is part of the Zen Store tracking, security related as well. Also, site realtime monitoring makes uses of the ip logs as well. I'll look into masking that out, but don't see any issues leaving it either. Thanks for the $ tip, gather it depends on what part of the world ( 10$ or $10 ) but,,I'll fix that :)

Not sure what monitor or resolution you are using, but here is how I test. I have 4 screens using 2 different pc's both using ATI graphics cards. First screen is a 19in LCD with a colormeter for use in color matching for pre-prints. Second is a 17in which uses a base 1024x768 res, third is a 15in using 800x600 and the last one is a composite hook to a 63in project TV also at 800x600. In all 4 cases, all is readable. But take into mind the general population, I can see where some issues would be a possible sore point and will work on those as well.

The Choco logo is a very fine logo, but I will add something to make it more visable as well.

I am working on many of those issues as we speak, and will update you once I have them so that you next visit is even better.

Thanks for the great input once again

Default Review

I think the Choco logo problem is with resizing to a slightly different ratio, not the actual image. It's fuzzy.
I am running IE 6 on Windows 2000. My monitor is set at 1280 x 1024, High/16-bit color.
These problems are nitpicky readability issues. The site is still pretty, it just could be easier to see.
Try taking a screen capture of your site and changing it to greyscale. That will show you what the contrast is like, and give you a hint of what colorblind users see.

On my computer, at 1024 X 768, your page title reads:

Quote:
Boyd Silver Works - Breast cancer awareness and pink ribbon jewelry items designed by a breast
I know that it should end with "cancer survivor", but I had to view your source code to double check.
