I looked over your site. Although I liked the background on the first page it made it nearly impossible to read the text. I can see that with the wide range of colors in the background that it might be hard to find a text color that will show up. You might try looking at the color palet of the background image and see what is not there. If the palet is not optimized, some graphic programs(like Neopaint) can even tell you what palet entries are never used. This might give you a hint. Otherwize, maybe bright blue would work as a text color. I also noted that the second ppg (lower right next to changing pictures) was easyer to read that the initial ppg even though that had a larger font. I would suspect it is because the second ppg is a bold font. You may want to consider that.
You may want to consider a little editing on the first ppg. It has impact(like a .50BMG?) but caused me to want to re-read(confusion) because of sentence structure. Here is a sugestion (changes in green).
Special Operations Forces are like a lightning bolt. A storm is brewing and you do not know if, when, or where, it will strike
. One thing is for certain, with the awesome firepower of an AC-130U "Spooky" gunship or the precision of a Barrett .50 Caliber sniper rifle
, you know you don't want to be standing under that tree. These men have the skills, motivation, and perseverance to be formidable foes.
The second page left me wondering what was there to do. I scrolled up and down and did not notice what whas there. It was pure luck that while moving my cursor from the scroll bar to the back button that it passed over the links(and the rollover effect) in the top ppg that I realized that they were links. Most folks look for the underlines to tell them that a work in a ppg is a link. I realize that so many underlined words(comma separated) in a ppg probably doesn't look so good, but you need a way to tell your visitor(quickly) that they can click on something here. Maybe a tabular organization with a heading that uses the word links. Maybe some text "these are my links..." in the top ppg.
Any solution will require more screen space. You might find that you have more room to play with if you were to reclaim some of the screen real estate used by the translations (top right with the large gap underneith)and the bablefish rectangle in the dead center. What is the emphasis, special forces info or translations? You may want to consider moving this stuff, along with the menu dropdown and the product links to the left and right, and let your content flow down the middle.
For example, clicking on the "Major International Military Special
..." link that takes me to the Catigorical site map. When I arive I can see the words catagorical site map, I can see the ever present ads, bable fish, drop dowm menu, upper right translations ect. What I dont see is the site map. I have to scroll down (and be convinced that scrolling down will get me something) to see the catagorized list. You may want to consider a organization that doesn't leave a visitor wondering if the page is broken, or if there is usefull content. To do that they need to see a hint of this content, as to know that scrolling will get them more.
Your site has a lot of great content! Now the trick is to let visitors know. I think your support of our military is great, and you have obviously put a lot of work into this.
On a completly separate side note. If you have heard of the troubles being stirred up for Lt. Col. West, please consider visiting this site where you can show your support for his cause:

Good luck with your site,
