Default twowayradiodirectory.com

The original layout was done using a page design software from GoDaddy. I have since moved to a new web host, stopped using the GoDaddy software and over time have replaced most of the original code with home grown html. Main function of the site is the Links area which is almost out of the box script.

What I am interested in is comments on the Home page, About, Bookstore, etc. No need to comment on the Links area for now.

Suggestions will definitely be conisdered and used if I can figure out how to do what is suggested. The other reason I have done this site is to learn about the process. Otherwise, I would have farmed it out to a Pro, in which case it would look good, but I would still be ignorant.

Thanks

I think the pages look fine. Not really very memorable, however.

Just a couple comments - the font sizes on the About page are too big (on other pages as well). I would recommend using less bolded fonts for main text area and keeping only the actual title of the page at 12pt or 14 pt bolded.

On the radio shopper page - you have 2 different fonts. Stick to one font through-out the whole site.

Lastly - you should have your logo on every page and you might want to think about simplifying it a little bit. Just having the font in your logo NOT be embossed would help it tremendously. The logos that are timeless have fonts that are flat or very very slightly embossed.

Oh, and the homepage. Was there one? ;) Looks like a bunch of ads to me! Good luck!

Sorry I don't like this at all. The header looks like it's a religious site. The rest is random flashing Amazon affiliate banners.

Content-wise, I always feel a links site is a cop out.

I agree with both of you that a better "logo" would be an improvement. I will be working on that.

The Amazon ads are very specifically chosen to appeal to what I believe are my primary visitors, communications technicians and wireless dealers. They do generate more than enough income to cover all my expenses with the site.

The primary reason this site exists is to be a human selected collection of links that are useful to the folks I mentioned above. I myself found that search engines always return many sites that wasted my time, so several years ago I began to bookmark the sites I found useful in my own work. I shared this list with some associates and the site began from that.

I believe a links based site can be a very useful resource if link selection is done with more than just quantity in mind. Emails from users thanking me for it keeps me motivated to try to improve it.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment.

I have made major changes in the appearance of my site. Comments on the "new look" would be appreciated.
