Default All puzzling stuff

I am about to facelift my site and wondered what other people would change first.
Start from scratch? or leave it as it is?
I love to optimize things to a high level.

Please feel free to ask if you would like to know why I made things a certain way. It helps me to understand what others can't understand or where they have difficulties (in navigating, reading, following,...)

You'll find my site on http://www.knoxpuzzles.com/

Thanks and have a nice day

Hi Roland.
I LOVE this stuff.

To answer your question - dump everything and START FROM SCRATCH.

NO FRAMES!

I can make you a custom template in exchange for a few of your toys. The concept will reflect two main connections - wood and puzzles. Send me a PM if interested, we'll work something out.

Better quality photos are a must.

Default uff da

Well, yes, scrap it. No frames.

You need to find a nice color combination that you can carry though-out the pages. Have bigger thumbnails on your product pages. Have pictures of your products on your homepage (big) so people know immediately what you sell. Try a different font - arial or tahoma or verdana.

Your logo, while cute, needs to be clearer because you can't read it until you really study it.

Your products are fantastic. Take photos of them with all-white backgrounds.

Viel Glück!

Default why no frames?

Thanks for the reviews folks.
Why do you think that it is a good idea NOT to use frames?
As for the size of font and images I wondered if an adjusting mechanism should be used (as is possible with "webproworld"). Half of my visitors seem to use a 1024*768 resolution screen, ~25% lower resolution and 25% higher resolution.

Each frame in essence is a separate page. Thus they get indexed (if they're lucky) by search engines as standalone pages, which is confusing for the visitors.

Grüezi!

Because of frames at www.knoxpuzzles.com/StartEn.html a SE spider will see this only:

Spidered Text :
KNOX Wooden Toys, Puzzles & Games To be able to enjoy the WebSite of KNOX Wooden Toys, Puzzles & Games we recommend the use of a frame enabled browser. If you do not have this facility please proceed to our WELCOME PAGE

Spidered Links :
Gruezi/GrueziEn.html

I would say start over and if you are a competent web builder try a package like www.oscommerce.com. You won't be able to cutomize it much at first, but changes to the CSS should give you a new color scheme...

Frames end up being more of a nuisance. Customers cannot bookmark any specific page in your site. If they want to bookmark a specific toy and come back to it, they can't, only the index page shows up. You will lose potential buyers this way. People don't want to waste the time to search for it again.

Also, while the clock is nifty, it is not necessary for your webpages.
