Hi,

I'm totally a newbe here, but working for some years(>20) in the medical industry. We have find out that there is no real traceability software in Europe dedicated to the medical industry.
We started some years ago and developped a software using Progress Software.
I'm not at all a webmaster, but conceived our website in (don't laugh pro's) Microsoft Publisher.
It is intended for a selected public of medical industry company owners, directors and quality managers.
Can you give me your thoughts about what you see? The French and Dutch part are of course more elaborated than the English part. It is intended for French and Dutch audience.
I just want to know if the look and feel is ok.

Thanks

Michel Steegen

First.. you need to re-optimize that site... I viewed it in 800X 600 and it is entirely too big... even in 1024x768... the text is too large...
most people are still viewing websites at 800X600... always take that into consideration when designing a site..
2. you need a logo and something a bit more eyecatching... the blue/blue is very bland..
3. you should not have a site map as your index page... you really need informational text immediately!!!

I agree about the logo, colors and first page, but the content is great. I explains what you're trying to accomplish. I found it informative. Once the other things are fixed, I believe you will have a steady of clients.

Good staring point!!! Nice looking content!!!

A few things, among many, will give you some good results:

Design aspects:
1. Use tables and use background colors to get a fuller look at different resolutions.
2. Always use graphics minimum >> they will constrain the flexible width of the tables.
3. Use style sheet file seperately (.css file) this will reduce the code on each page and gives you faster loading of the page.
4. I would like to see a "menu" on each and every page

Search Engine aspects:
1. Treat each and every page a potential top ranker and identify key words / phrases that are relevant to the "Content" of the page. You have good content just dont let go a waste wrt SEs
2. remove the following tag
<meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Publisher 2000">
this wont help you any way
3. Just use meta discription and meta key words >> dont fill them with too many key words ... I suggest one "key Phrase" per page
4. Right use of title tag and <h1> tag

First thing I would do is put some good text on my home page. This is where Google will start and where your customers will start.
We are working on having our web site in both Spanish and English now. What we are doing is putting a button at the top of every page that says Spanish English.

There are a couple reasons we are doing it this way.
1. People can enter the site from any page it may not be the home page or the language they want to view the site in.
2. Google starts at my home page so I want to make sure it is set up with good text to help it rank good.

The next thing I would work on is your logo. You need a really nice looking logo that says I'm a profesional and I'm serious about my business.

It looks like the rest of the post has covered just about everything else.
