The Bells

This is a site that my brother and I made to showcase some of the artwork we have done. This is our second time making a site in flash, so we're really interested to see your responses. The site features our flash animations as well as links to the websites we have created. Feel free to take a look around the site and tell us how to make it better. Thanks.

Default Changes Made

Alright, it looks like noone had anything to say about our site, so we went ahead and made some changes:

- Removed the "home" button off the pages

- Made a bottom navigation bar

- Added clickable e-mail links for "john" and "daniel" at the bottom left

- Adjusted meta-tags

- Added "about us:" to clear up some navigation confussion related to the left bar

- Adjusted color schemes of "websites" page

- Made "quickstepjohn.com" link clickable on the left column

- Made individual titles for pages and pop-up animations

Thanks again for all your input.

The Bells

The animations are great, but it tends to slow the load time down some. For those that have dailup, it may take too long. I might suggest putting more info about you and what you're trying to do. It was a cool site, but I didn't know the reason for it.

Generally, the design is great. I liked the color combination you used, especially for the site of (was it) Cool John. The combination of olive green/blue against monochromatic backgrounds produces some sort of nostalgic feeling (to me, at least).
However, when I looked at the animations I became impatient with the download time. I'm connected to the net via cable (hence my connection is relatively faster). Perhaps (just perhaps) you might have used bitmaps in your animations which eat a lot of space plus the audio files that go with it. I would really like to see the animations but I couldn't wait that long for the movie to be loaded.

The loading times of the animations is way to much without a better preloader. That moving disc with 'loading' on it doesn't tell me whether anything is coming down or not.

The reason that's a pain is that I'm sitting here using a T1 connection and after 15-30 seconds of nothing I have no idea how long I'm going to wait - so went elsewhere. Your other visitors (especially those on dial-up) will do the same.

I did wait for one animation to load (about 30 seconds total), and if they're all the same as that then they are very good indeed. It would be a shame to lose people for the sake of a preloader.

Nice design :-)
I do not personaly like this type of websites, they are more multimedia presentations that an ordinary website, but that is my opinion.

If I could change anything I'd make this site bigger in width and height, it is way too small on my 1280x1024 screen.
