I have not released this web site as of yet, and was hoping to get some comments on it from some cooking enthusiasts, and some web site experts of course.

I am still building content and will be having friends and family come in and give the web site a more lived in atmosphere prior to releasing it for all to use.

Edit: Sorry, I left this out: http://www.tastychef.net

Thank you in advance,
Troy Pentico

First... it would have been nice to make a clickable link to your site, rather than make a reviewer open a new window.

I have a few comments to make:
1. I don't like the google ads on the top of the page...it detracts from your own site... and if you must have them, then your site name should be more prominent.

2. Since you are offering everything on your site for free, I don't see the reasoning behind making a visitor register (unless, of course, you want to create a mailing list... but you could do that by requesting your viewers to sign up for a mailing list).. I, for one, would not register just to get some recipes, information, etc., that might be available anywhere else on the internet.

3. I don't see the purpose of your "member List"

4. "From the beginner to the master chef when you become a member of The Tasty Chef you will join hundreds of experts and your peers to exchange recipes, advice, and tips on cooking and food."... this sentence rambles on and should have some punctuation to be able to percieve it correctly.

5. you have no meta tags, which you will need if you are to do well with the search engines.

6. I think you need a lot more text explaining the purpose of your site...

hope this helps... good luck!

1.You are using a free message board and portal. (phpbb) The theme you have is widely used and I would recommend changing it to give your site its own identity. Check out one of my sites http://www.swimmingpoolworld.com. This is a phpbb site with a custom template.

2.You will need meta tags if you want to place high in any search engines. You can edit your overall_header.tpl file and put tags in.

3.I aree with info202, get rid of the google ads and I think your logo needs to be a little "bolder"
