| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

Our major product is hand carved and hand painted Christmas ornaments. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions to help improve our site. While I am rather technically inept, I am most willing to learn. Our site is http://www.treetreasurescanada.com
To anyone who is kind enough to review our site, I would be pleased to return the favour. |

Hi,
Your site is very nice and I think will be a success. One thing that I'd do is make a back to HOME link appear at the top of each page. For me, once I got down inside the site, the navigation wasn't very intuitive. Visited links should be a significantly different colour from unvisited links -- yours are almost identical and difficult to distinguish. The "GENERAL" section, which contains corporate stuff, should go underneath the last of the carving pages. I'd try to keep 'like with like' etc. to make navigation more intuitive. US dollars are probably a must-show detaill for your website. Otherwise -- very inviting and welcoming. Cheers, Matt |

Thank you Matt and Clicken for your thoughtful replies. Regarding link colours, our links should be dark green with visited links burgundy. Is this what you are seeing but finding the two dark colours to be too similar?
It is not cost effective for us to accept US dollar credit card transactions as well as Canadian dollar transactions. The bank charges are just too high. Do you feel that approximate US dollar prices (with a footnote)would be beneficial? Also, how about approx. Euro prices? Clicken, I asked for a review in the hopes of improving traffic and/or conversion rates. While internet sales are historically very slow for us to the end of August, this year has been a disaster so far. Our sales to the end of July are lower than they've been since 1999! Not a good omen. I also prefer the navigation bar to the left and will likely change it in next year's major overhaul. |

Matt,
I would recommend getting a (much smaller) header and footer on each individual product page that lets you navigate back to the home page... you can also use this area to beef up your keyword density for each page. I also agree that you should have a consisitant navigation scheme throughout the whole site. The big box at the top of each page might be too tall, as I only run 1024X768 and have to scroll on every page to even see the first row of products. Hope this helps. . . Good Luck!
