Hello web site masters!

I have been reading the newsletters that have been sent to my e-mail for a couple of weeks now. I am impressed with the knowledge of the people who moderate this site, and even more impressed with the comments that people have been providing for site reviews.

This has caused me to "come out of the closet" and submit my site for review. I am nervous since I am afraid you will all tell me to find another hobby.

I am new to the web design world, and have only had this site operational for 3 weeks now.

http://www.jamminscooters.com

I have had some success with PPC at Overture while waiting for Google to list my site. In addition, I have placed several ads on the USFreeads network for exposure, and link effect.

I am more interested in hearing what the site looks like to other people who visit my site. This morning I read the article on the color yellow and am wondering if this was written with me in mind...LOL.

Anyway, I would love to hear anything you have to say, good or bad, that would help me to make a web store that people feel comfortable making a purchase.

Thanks for every single comment!!!

Gary

The logo needs some work and I would move the credit card information to the bottom of the page.
I think a mouse over effect for your buttons would help. Never mind it started working.
I also did not like the look of your buttons or the back ground color you used.

I'm sorry steelkurt
You have a nice clean site the navigation is easy to use and I had no problem finding my way around the site.

Over all it was a very nice looking site but I figured if I told you the bad it would help you out more.

But over all it was not a bad looking site at all.

What would be a good background color...I mean, what are the colors that appeal to people?

Thanks

Silly!

I was just teasing you.

Janeth, thanks for your comments, good or bad. I figure the truth hurts sometimes, and it will help me.

Thanks again

Hi steelkurt,
For the most part I try to stay as close to white as I can get.
Rocky says it is better to be a shade away from white so I have started trying to stay a shade off white for the older people like Rocky. I think it makes it easer for them to read the text.

C'mon now.... I'm not that old! ~~ LOL ~~

Not to mention I had problems with glare even in my younger days.

As for the site, it appears you have several different shades of off white going there Gary. You might want to try and match the one in the header, so it blends in. Otherwise I see a very pale yellow in the header, an off white on the page and a brighter purer white on several of the pictures.

As for Janeth's comments on Mouseover of your links, I likewise found that the mouseover effect was very slow, and without looking at your script, I'm going to guess you aren't preloading your navigation button images on site load, when in fact it appears you need too, so that they are readily active. This may however slow page load a bit too, that's one of the prices you pay for having so many nifty graphic oriented buttons.

You might also want to look at padding on the table on your homepage, versus the others, because the others seem to crowd the navigation at left.

You need to check page width, I'm picking up left to right scroll even at 1024 x 768 resolution, meaning it's going to get really ugly at 800 x 600. I believe the problem lies about line 7 in script reading ~~> but I wouldn't swear to it!

Overall the site navigates great, had no problems there what so ever. Likewise checked it in the Opera browser and it works great there too.

Well I like it pretty much. Actually I like the credit card logo at the top. Only problem I have is the sideways scrolling on my 1024 monitor.

Maybe have two columns instead of three.

Sideways scroll was about the only issue I had with it also.
