Default Review of redesign to www.highkicktkd.com

Hello,

Working again on a redesign to the site www.highkicktkd.com

The new look is here:
http://www.highkicktkd.com/new2.html

I'm not a good graphic person so my logo compared to the old one is not so bad. I'm getting better :)
(left off the "Do" in taekwondo :) i'll fix that)

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

EDIT:

I fixed the logo and added a tagline.
Moved the google ads to the footer.

Thanks
Danielle

your new logo is much much better than the old...
I have a question - why do you have an ad for "martial arts supplies" on the top of your page.
If this is not your site, also, I would suggest that you put it elsewhere.... as it appears that you are putting a great deal of emphasis on someone else's site. and, in any case, any other site that you may have a link to on your site should open in a new window... by doing it the way you have, you have just lost your visitor.
I think you should have more text .... I only viewed your index page, so cannot comment on any other pages..
you logo should have alt tags as should every other photo you use on your site... the text for the alt tags should included your keywords... speaking of which, I checked your source code and you have no meta tags.... you should have a meta tag for the description and for your keywords/keyword phrases. I, for one, use phrases when searching for something, so I feel that they are better than one word keywords.

Good luck!

PS.. may I suggest that you look at the topic (in this forum) called tips before submitting your site... there are some very good links that will test your site for the basics, rather than just the design.

info202:

I will fix the alt tags on the images.
As for the meta stuff...this page is only for design purposes. The current site that is up I created as well and will copy all the meta info when I redo everything.
No sense in creating tons of pages with the new design if I have to end up changing things.

The google ads, you can not edit the code to open links in a new window (against their rules).
I didn't know what else to put up there so I stuck the google ads up there.

What do you mean by more text? I thought I had a good amount of info on the page.

you should have about 200-250 words per page... and that does not include text that says you are re-designing the site.
Since you cannot open the google ads in another window, I would suggest putting them on the bottom of the page...you should not be advertising other sites so prominently on your own.... after all, the purpose of your site is to advertise your own business...perhaps you can use that space to put in a tagline.....
