| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

He included the period after com in his link... take that out and you can get to it.
Loads quickly on cable modem... I understand having different versions for different browsers, but the content is different in the middle home page box for IE and Firefox... I prefer the message in the Firefox version, but like the font of the IE version better. :) Are you meaning to have the dead space on the right? Personally, if a site has padding to the sides, I prefer the content section to be centered - but that's just personal preference. Several of the "more" nav buttons on the Firefox version are on top of other text. Actually, just viewed some other pages with Firefox, and you have some serious issues with it - images missing, text boxes empty, graphics and text overlaying, etc. Opera doesn't like it either. Home button link at top isn't working on any version (at least from the map page). [edited - went back again and home link is working, but Firefox and Opera still having display issues] I like the overall look of the site - but it needs to be more than IE compatible. |

donrpope is correct about browser issues. I think the problem is evident at http://validator.w3.org. You (your prog.) missed out the DOCTYPE. You created this in MS Office (right?) and it's supposed to be HTML 4.0 but clearly isn't. As usual, Microshaft are out on a limb and they haven't done you any favours.
The whole site is comprised of images and that's why it's so slow to load. It looks OK but I'm afraid you are going to have to start again and replace all image text with 'real' text. Don't forget to use a linked CSS to control your layout. I can see what you did, you created big images in Photoshop and then sliced them up in Image Ready then used Office to put them together. Eek! Apart from the dreadful load-time (50secs @ 48kbps) the search engines will ditch you especially without ALT tags. I say ditch MS and use a decent prog. like Dreamweaver or GoLive. Good luck |

Here is the history of the site. I purchased a template, customized it in photoshop, then edited it in frontpage. I had a feeling I screwed this up...bigtime. I was thinking that I should scrap the site, and start with new one...much more html based. Frankly, much of the problems you describe are above my level of understanding.
I'm bummed, but would appreciate suggestion on a game plan. |
