Default www.BambooHeadquarters.com

http://www.bambooheadquarters.com/temp/testsumie2.htm

GOAL:
I am trying out new design layouts for a revamp on my company's existing site. I am trying to be the most functional nursery site, and also have a pleasing look.

FRAMELESS:
I am trying to break free of frames and get a better form and function to the whole thing. (see the root website for the old site)

Please help me! I feel the new design (link above) is lacking something...

No navigation yet...just the front page.

Also, if you want to see our competition, type "Bamboo Plants" or "Bamboo Nursery" into Google.

THANKS!

Rich

Hi Rich,

I ran into the same problem as you. We are trying to do a bamboo web site for a business we are thinkig about starting and have had a tuff time with it.

Here is a sample of what we where playing with http://www.geeksonsteroids.com/porfo...mboo/index.htm
it might help.

There was something about the bamboo website that made it a little tuff.

I like a lot the way you did the logo but think if you set the top of the page and sides like I ended up doing it will help.

Your colors are better then mine but you are welcome to use any ideas of mine that you would like to.

I hope it helps.

Janeth,

Thanks for sending that. Nice to see that Guadua is being put to good use. There is so much in South America, great natural resourse. Have a look at another site I helped design, they are interested in the cultivation of American bamboos.

I like your design, it works well for bamboo construction. I didn't want the classic tabular menu feel. I like structure in web sites very much, but with bamboo plants it felt wrong. Since Bamboo Headquarters is a bamboo nursery, I was trying to come up with a natural feel to the site. VERY difficult to capture in an 800x600 area. I think I am on my way...but still...something doesn't feel right. Wish I could put my finger on it, hopefully someone can.

Thanks again for your help, you are a great designer,

Rich

Here is attempt #2. Nothing to different...just a bird and some alignment.

Your site is still too large for 800 /x 600.. (I had to scroll sideways) perhaps your could make your title banner a bit smaller...ir really does not have to overwhelm the page..
your photo of the bamboo doesn't seem right... I realize that you probably wanted not to have sharp edges, but perhaps you should have it fade rather than the edges your used...

Hi Rich,
Thanks for the link to your other site. I need to spend some time reading the information there. As I said before we are just starting a business here with the bamboo.

We have some great people working with the bamboo but I need to learn all I can about the bamboo for myself.
Thanks for the link

Ok, I think I like DHTML menus. I tried it on the re-design and I think it will work. Tell me what you think.
