Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. Graphics are slow to load. Might be nice if the links changed colour when the mouse is passed over them. Better not to underline text as it looks like a link which can be confusing. Contact Us menu seems obscured by the background. Otherwise, a good solid design,. Good luck with it.

Hi,

Actually this site turns out to be very nice and easy to use. I'd put painting titles in the alt attribute of the img element, if I were you...

Cheers,
Matt

1) The style and "feel" of the home page is graphically too clunky to appeal to people who have an appreciation of fine art. There is no sense of "fineness" or artistry to it.

2) You mention Picasso, et al, but you show relative unknowns as the first examples of your reproductions. This might puzzel viewers who are attracted to the "fine" part of your name--and then see paintings they don't immediately recognize.

3) Even the name "D'Fine" is clunky. Is it a play on words ("define"?); it is trying to be European ("de Fine"?)? If so, that ploy fails and is off-turning.

My recommendations:
A) Get an accomplished grahic artist to at least design the home page to be gracisous and graphically exquisit.
B) Get an experienced wordsmith to craft the home page copy to appeal to those with artisitic tastes.
C) Drop the mastercard logo to another spot. When people are looking for fine art--how to pay for it is not foremost on thier minds; finding the right website is.

Default other things

I agree with what everone else has said but I wanted to add...

When I click on a painting, is it a fine art reproduction? Giclee? litho poster? that I'm getting for $195. I found very little detail about what I'm getting for my money.

Just a suggestion.
