Default Review / Help: http://www.visualip.com

I have been running Visual ImPulse Media for a year now and have had very little success through the website. What needs to be done so that I can get some customers? What should be changed with the site, is there something wrong with it? Thanks for any help!

Default Comments about your site

I really like the look and feel of your site - and it appears to rank ok in google. My only comments are:

There are no examples of actual work (web design, flash anims etc) in the Showcase, this may lead a potential client elsewhere where they can actually see some examples of what they might get for their money. In my opinion, being a designer, you can only be judged on the work that you have produced.

My only other comments are that the type is quite big - you may find the interface more elegant if you were to reduce the font size (like on the main home page) and work on the layout of the text.

On the whole I like it - and I think it is very nearly the site that you want it to be.

Your site is lovely... very very nice index page but I see two problems,at least
1. you have no meta tags... how is anyone going to find you on the search engines?
2. your site is just too large... I viewed it in 800 x 600 resolution and could not see the entire page.. most people are still viewing in 800x 600.. to do a site in 1024 x 768 is just not a good showcase...it does not give the potential client a feel that you can do anything for them, since they cannot even view your site without side scrolling.

Default Visual ImPulse Media

Hi subrogate,

I agree with info202's comments, this has clearly been designed for higher resolutions, and will inevitably alienate those visitors using lower resolutions such as 800x600.

A 3" inch high banner with views of outer space may impress some people, but it doesn't do a great deal for me I'm afraid. There is virtually no text content on your homepage at all.. it's nearly all graphical - no wonder search engines are not picking you up!

How about starting off with a description of what Visual ImPulse Media is? This should be the FOCUS of your homepage. A shortened form of this (around 20-25 words) also needs to be included in a description meta tag, and make sure the essential words and phrases are likewise included in your keywords meta tag.

Looking good is one thing, but as in life, a bit of quality content to back it up can make a real difference! ;-)

You defintely have nothing on your homepage for the search engines to pick up. I would have to actually punch in Visual Impulse to get your listing in the front search pages. You have got lots of room because of your huge image to put a bit better description of who you are.

Pesonally, I think you have too much going on. All those graphics may look great, but that is just way too busy in my opinion.

Your text is starting too far down the page. You have taken up half the first visual with your image. Again, they may look great, but they aren't telling me what I want the site to tell me on first impression.

The graphics are great, but I think a bit of overkill. And definately get some relevent keywords onto that page.

Good luck :-)
