Default ecs-signs.com

Hi, I first designed my business site a long time ago and it has served me well for all these years but I felt it needed a fresh look: therefore, I restructured it this last month.

I am looking for extensive criticism so please open up on me.

This post has had 5 views but no reviews. Is there a problem with the link or maybe it loads too slow?

Please let me know, I am anxious for feedback.

Default Site Review

Ok, now it has had 11 views with no comments. Come on people, be critical!!!

I have reviewed 12 sites since I joined yesterday and not ONE of you has returned the favor. I must say I am very disappointed.

Some one please give me some feedback on my site. I just spent 2 weeks revamping it, doing away with frames and java. Just check it out & leave a comment.
Thanks so much.

Hi there,

One point which I have to say is that your site is far to cluttered.

Some nice work on the meta tags...how does it rate?

Artwork is poor and for a design / sign company this does not reflect well at all.

You need to be clean crisp and push people where you want them to go. At the moment it is a free for all on your site.

First Thing I noticed when I went to your site is the paypal sign...it shouldn't be should be your heading or logo etc.

Other things that make it look unprofessional include the temperature gauge and other little items on the left.

I am trying to build my portfolio of work up and would like to help you. If you are interested I could do some re-designing? (free of charge).

Let me know if you are interested, contact me through either the forum, or my website

www.cubid.co.uk

Many thanks

Dan

Default Weekend Posts

Sorry for the delay, but with posts on Fridays, sometimes it takes till Monday for some of us to catch up on things! By then, we're already got one foot out the door if you know what I mean!

I begin by saying that I spent 4 years designing signage and know the business fairly well. The site is way too cluttered. Look at condensing the side navigation into a menu with drop down lists. Or since several of them are samples, then prices, maybe just lead them to the decription page for that type of signage and then have links to samples and prices. With your samples, they are very small. You may want to hotlink them to larger versions, I would also look at color correcting most of them.

Also, at the top of your menu bar is Electrical Department, is this intentional? My first impression is an Electrical Contractor that also designs signage. I would think you would want to be looked at as a Sign Company that can do their own electrical work. If you want to promote the EC work more, consider another website that is more specific to this department and doesn't take away from the Sign apsect of your company. If nothing else, drop this down to the bottom half of your menu. Also, I am biased, but I would maybe consider more information on your art department. Discuss it's capabilities and equipment used.

I'll continue to peruse the site and see if I am able to pinpoint anything else. Feel free to email me at my link below, as I may have some other suggestions that are more signage related than design related and would probably bore everyone here. :)

You have got everything on the Home page, (feels familiar), I feel that a javascript menu system would improve the readability of the menu bar on the left, have a look at ALLWEBMENUS which is a really neat bit of programming, a few bugs but easy to get up and running and get a good menu system within an hour! (no assosiation with ALLWEBMENUS).
You have to buy a copy but if you can wait until the weekend I can run a very quick sample of what the program can do for you - Email me.

I have never liked tables with thick borders, I was looking for hyperlinks on the headings in the tables to expalin what things were about but nothing, is the site mainly for Sign design or Electrical, can you split the 2 things?
