Professional advice needed for www.dreamshelter.com.sg
Hi everyone,
I am new to Internet industry, and have created a site based on some experience after doing some reading. I have read that to increase the rank of your site on Google. You need to increase contents, and number of links to your site.
Is my design having any problems since I can never get ranked on Google?
http://www.dreamshelter.com.sg
I would really appreciate it if anyone could help.

I had a look
Alanchia,
I think your site very nicely set out and clear. You have the keywords in place but maybe youshould add some more comas to seperate them?? The content on the index page is good and your keywords are in there, which is a good idea and also the logo has the alt tag too.
Not sure why google isn't indexing the site? external links are important but you can still get up the rankings without them as I have.
Sorry couldn't be of more help
Dean

Problem with site
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I was just wondering whether Google has banned my site from being listed.
Is there a way to check how ?
Would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you in advance.

Some suggestions
I used "site:www.dreamshelter.com.sg" in the Google search bar and it shows that many of your pages are indexed.
I am also new to SEO but I am ranked (4 - 10 normally ) on Google and other SE's. What I have found when researching for keywords is to try and think what people that would like to make use of my services might type in the search box. Ask your freinds what they would use. Also I have found that some people will for instance type in "property" and then get a long list of propertires worldwide. They will normally just add further search terms like "property office singapore". As you can see they build onto the first words.
The phrases "singapore property, singapore properties, property in singapore" come up a lot in the body text. Try including "property singapore, commercial, residential" at the strat of your keywords. Also try this title "Singapore property commercial residential properties from DreamShelter :: Find it now"
Good luck

www.dreamshelter.com.sg - How do you feel at first glance ?
Thanks for the reply.
I was wondering how do you feel about our web site
at first glance.
Would you pay to place you classified ads on this web site ?

I feel interested
I visited the site and read so many of the potential benefits on the site that I wanted to explore further. If the site had covered the city where I live, I would have considered advertising a room for rent, and looked for flats for some people I know who are looking for different accomodation.
I found the site very easy to use. I was left with the thought "if there was a service like this in Melbourne Australia, how much would it cost me to place an ad?"

Thank you
Thank you for your honest feedback.
I was getting quite a number of customers when the service was free. However, the response was not that good with the property agents, when the classified ad began to cost them SGD 35 cents per day for one ad.
Now, I am left thinking where did it went wrong. I suspect that there could be many service providers giving free ads which is why business is that bad.
I am starting to feel that I am on the wrong track of the e-commerce business world.

Price
I would think they could be very unwilling to have to start paying for what they had been getting for free. Maybe you could provide the basic service free and also sell added value services to customers who want them - featured listings, handling customer enquiries, priority service or any other useful services you would be willing to provide.

Good clean site.
The big thing missing is a search option. Usually visitors will search with different criteria’s like price, location, facilities etc.
How about allowing free ads and one featured section where you can charge money for ads ? Now no one will place their ads in featured section but once you have hundreds of free ads then some of them would like to move to featured section. Charge money then..
Sorry if I am saying more ..
I have developed some realestate scripts for my clients and these are some of their minimum requirements. You can plan them for your future additions. One more came to my mind now ..
How about integrating to Mapquest ? Show the map to locate the house.

Your site seems fine! Although I am not attracted to purchase your advertising myself. This is mainly due to the fact I am not looking to advertise a property - or seeking to obtain one, for that matter.
Although, there is just one thing I would change. I have noticed your web site has opted for the 'no-frills' approach. This is fine, and I accept the top header is in keeping with this theme, but, I would still change that text header. Whether it be the font, size, colour or even change it to an image. I'm not sure what exactly would correct this, but I would change it, all the same.

Value added services
Hi,
Thanks for the great advice.
I will try to have some free services first,
and will see how it goes.
I doubt that it will bring in much profits at all.
I think my competitors are out to undercut each other, in the end nothing is left for everyone.

Site optimization
I would say that the text are really for seo optimisations. If I were to remove the text, that might lower my ranking too.
Images will definitely not help in the optimization.
I am still looking for good alternatives.
